Ohio Premier (3-0-1), Ohio Elite Soccer Academy (2-2-2), FC Virginia (8-2-3), Maryland United FC (1-2-3), Bethesda SC (4-1-1) and CASL (8-1-5) each earned four of six available points on the weekend with a win and a draw.

Ohio Premier and Bethesda SC hold the top two spots in the Ohio Valley Division along with the No. 10 and No. 14 Champions League seeds heading into the New Year. Midfielder Kamryn Davis had a role in all three of Ohio Premier’s goals as her team remained unbeaten this weekend, defeating Richmond United 2-0 and tying CASL 1-1. Midfielders Talia Gabarra (1 goal, 1 assist) and Juliana Lynch (2 goals) helped lead the efficient Bethesda offense as their team defeated Charlotte Soccer Academy 2-0 and tied NC Fusion 2-2. The Bethesda back line also recorded its fourth consecutive shutout in the Charlotte match on Saturday.

Maryland United had a terrific showing defensively, allowing only one goal in two games while tying NC Fusion 1-1 and blanking Charlotte 2-0 on Sunday. Defenders Annabel Hofmann and Mary Twetten not only made key contributions on the back line but also added to the scoring effort, with Hoffman finding the net and Twetten picking up an assist. Since the start of December the United back line has conceded just two goals in four matches. Midfielder Madison Synowiec also had a big weekend for United, scoring one goal and assisting the other in Sunday’s victory.

FC Virginia and CASL are in first and second place in the Chesapeake Division at the conclusion of the weekend with the No. 21 and No. 17 slots in the Champions League standings. FCV edged out Indiana Fire Juniors 1-0 on Saturday before tying Ohio Elite 1-1 on Sunday in the Midwest. Victoria Powell scored or assisted both of FCV’s goals as she continues to put up massive numbers this season, now leading the team in both categories with 8 goals and 10 assists. Meanwhile the team’s back line has conceded just one goal in its last four matches.

CASL concluded conference play with a 4-0 home win over Internationals SC and a 1-1 draw against Ohio Premier, and will wrap up its 2015-2016 regular season campaign next week at the ECNL Florida Showcase in Sanford. Camryn Dixon scored in each game and Mattie Murphy notched an assist in each game for CASL this weekend while Trinity Davis recorded a brace on Saturday to lead the attack.

Internationals SC (4-0-0) continued its perfect season with 2-1 and 1-0 road wins over CASL (5-7-3) and Richmond United (10-3-2). The dominant Internationals back line has now allowed just two goals through four matches, as a Grace Wagner goal set up by Meredith Brown for CASL was the only score they gave up on the trip to the South. U.S. Girls National Team roster pool forward Loren Sefcik continued her strong start to the season for Internationals with another goal, while Jordan Brewster played a part in both of the team’s goals in Saturday’s win over CASL. Defender Garland Jackson had an impressive two-way effort, contributing to the stifling effort by the back line while also notching an assist.

CASL rallied to earn a point on Sunday with a 1-1 draw against Ohio Premier, as Brown assisted midfielder Molly Niewald on her second strike of the season. It was the second tie in as many days for Ohio Premier, which played Chesapeake Division-leading Richmond United to a scoreless draw on Saturday in Virginia.

Ohio Elite Soccer Academy (4-0-0) maintained its unblemished record with a pair of one-goal wins against Chesapeake Division sides McLean Youth Soccer (6-6-1) and FC Virginia (9-4-0). Division-leading FC Virginia also dropped its Saturday match 3-0 to Indiana Fire Juniors, while McLean rallied for a 3-2 win over Indiana on Sunday. Kristina Lynch (2 goals) and Katherine Soderstrom (1 goal, 1 assist) each had strong weekends for Indiana on their team’s home fields at the Grand Park Sports Campus.

Charlotte Soccer Academy (5-8-3) continued its best stretch of the season with a pair of road wins in Maryland against Bethesda SC and Maryland United FC, remaining undefeated through four games in December. Maryland United and Bethesda both split their results on the weekend, each earning definitive victories over NC Fusion (0-14-0) as well. Caitlin Shepherd (2 goals, 1 assist) and Morgan Grauel (1 goal, 1 assist) were among the leaders for Maryland United on Saturday against Fusion, while defenders Gracie Timbario (1 goal, 2 assists), Casey Ballow (1 goal) and Molly Olcott (1 goal) helped lead Bethesda to a shutout and a five-goal outburst on Sunday.
