Stanford, Florida State and BYU have all punched their tickets to the Women’s College Cup and now only one spot remains.
No. 1 Clemson will host No. 2 Penn State in the last quarterfinal matchup with the winner set to play No. 1 Florida State in the semifinals on Friday, Dec. 1. The other semifinal is set for a battle between No. 1 BYU vs. No. 2 Stanford.
Friday’s first three quarterfinal games didn’t disappoint. BYU overcame a seemingly impossible deficit after falling behind by three goals in the opening 20 minutes against North Carolina. But BYU stormed back with 3 goals in the closing 10 minutes of the game to stun the Tar Heels with a 4-3 win.
Stanford and Nebraska went into overtime to decide their game, as Stanford emerged with a 2-1 victory thanks to Maya Doms, who netted the game-winning goal.
Florida State took care of business against Pitt, firing on all cylinders during their 3-0 clean sheet triumph. See below for a rundown of each game along with highlights from Friday’s action.
