Louisville women’s soccer solidifies 2024 recruiting class spanning the entire U.S.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville women’s soccer head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes and her staff have added eight players to their 2024 class.
Lauryn Contini, Avery Oregel, Amelia Swinarski, Grace Maddox, Piper Davidson, Brooklyn Lee, AG Gibson and Fina Davy are all set to join the Cardinals for the 2024 season. The signing class includes two forwards, four midfielders and three defenders. They hail from Kentucky, Ohio, Washington, Maryland and Georgia.

Lauryn Contini
Midfielder | 5-5
Hometown: New Philadelphia, Ohio
High School: New Philadelphia
Club: Cleveland Force Soccer Club
Lauryn comes to the Cardinals from New Philadelphia, Ohio where she played for New Philadelphia High School and club for Cleveland Force and coach Rob Miller. She was the 2023 District Player of the Year and was voted No. 2 on Ohio’s Best Top-23 high school girls soccer players for the 2023 season. She is a two-time first team all-region (2022, 2023) and was first team All-Ohio in 2022. For her club team, she was selected to the ECNL National Training Camp in 2022 and the ECNL Selection Game Florida in 2022. She was an ECNL Ohio Valley All-Conference Team honoree in 2021-22 and 2022-23.
“Lauryn is going to provide an immediate attacking presence for us. She is capable of scoring goals with both feet from in and around the box. She strikes a ball exceptionally well and is also an excellent final passer who will be able to set her teammates up. Grace Maddox
Defender | 5-9
Hometown: Statham, Ga.
High School: North Oconee
Club: GSA
Grace comes to Louisville from Statham, Georgia where she played for North Oconee High School and club for GSA and coach Drew Prentice. She broke the school record for goals as a freshman with 29 in her first season. She was the State Champion in 2021 and a 2023 State Finalist while her team made the 2022 Final Four. She has been an All-Region team selection in each of her first three high school seasons. For her club team, she was a team captain for six years and a member of the all-conference team.

Brooklyn Lee
Defender | 5-8
Hometown: Tacoma, Wash.
High School: Stadium
Club: PacNW
Brooklyn joins the Cardinals from Tacoma, Washington where she played at Stadium High School and club for Viet Nguyen. She led Stadium to the 2023 PCL championship and they were the district champions this season as well. In her senior season so far she has scored 20 goals and tallied nine assists. She was named PCL offensive and co-offensive MVP and earned first team All-PCL honors and honorable mention all-state accolades. For her club team, she was second team All-ECNL.

Fina Davy
Forward/Midfielder | 5-7
Hometown: Delaware, Ohio
High School: Olentangy Berlin
Club: Ohio Premier
Fina comes to the Cardinals from Delaware, Ohio where she played at Olentangy Berlin high school and club for Ohio Premier and coaches WIllie Gage and Chris King. She has her name in the record books at Olentangy Berlin as she has the career record for goals, career hat tricks and the most assists in a season. In her senior season, she was named first team All-Conference and the Conference Player of the Year after scoring 20 goals and 18 assists. For her club team, she was first team All Conference ECNL this season and Best 11 USYS National Championships back in 2021.
“Fina is coming off of an excellent club campaign where she was instrumental in her team’s success. She has scored many goals and is a handful for opposition defenses. She has the versatility to beat you off the dribble or break you down with her passing ability. Piper Davidson
Forward/Midfielder | 5-5
Hometown: Wenatchee, Wash.
High School: Wenatchee
Club: Crossfire Premier
Piper joins the Cardinals from Wenatchee, Washington where she played at Wenatchee High School and club for Crossfire and coaches Billy Wiskel and Kevin Legg. When playing for Wenatchee, she was an All-Conference first team member, two-time district champion and two-time league champion. In her high school career, she has scored 62 goals, tallied 46 assists and had 170 points. For her club team, she was also a first team All-Conference selection.
“Piper is a true wide player with excellent speed and ability to beat you on the dribble! She can play on the right or the left and will be difficult for defenders to contain. Piper is extremely fit and athletic and will flourish once we get her in our system.” – Karen Ferguson-Dayes
“Piper has been the quintessential captain for our program. She leads with tremendous humility, competitiveness and work ethic. She knows when to be a voice for the program but prefers to lead by example. Although she has shattered every offensive record in school history, she remains one of the most unselfish players I have coached as evidenced by the fact that she has led her team in both assists and goals the past 2 seasons. She will frequently pass up an open shot to create an assist for an easier goal by one of her teammates. It has been an absolute pleasure coaching Piper and she will be missed by her teammates and coaching staff. Avery Oergel
Defender | 5-5
Hometown: Fulton, Md.
High School: Reservoir
Club: Maryland United FC
Avery comes to Louisville from Fulton, Maryland where she played at Reservoir High School and club for Maryland United FC and coach Steve Campbell. While playing for Maryland United, she was a two-time ECNL First Team All-Conference (North Atlantic) selection and a member of the US National Team Pool. She was the captain of her club team and was selected for the 2023 ECNL NJ National Selection Game.

She is an excellent defender who is very difficult to beat and she is also very eager to get involved in the attack. Amelia Swinarskil
Midfielder | 5-6
Hometown: Madison, Ohio
High School: Madison
Club: Internationals Soccer Club
Amelia joins the Cardinals from Madison, Ohio where she played at Madison High School and club for Internationals Soccer Club and coaches Keri Sarver, Zdravko Popovic, and Mike Marich. For her high school team, she was named Conference Player of the Year, two-time first team All-Conference and first team All-Created Cleveland. She guided Madison to the district finals. In her two years at Madison, she scored 30 goals and 23 assists. For her club team, she has been named first team All-Conference three years in a row.

AG Gibson
Midfielder | 5-4
Hometown: Louisville, Ky.
High School: Assumption
Club: Racing Louisville Academy
AG Gibson is a Louisville native where she plays high school at Assumption and club for Racing Louisville Academy and coach George Davis IV. For Assumption, she was a two-time first team All-State honoree and a two-time Region 7 player of the year. She guided Assumption to the region championship during the 2022 season. She has scored 56 goals and 53 assists during her career at Assumption. She was also named to the All-District team and All-Tournament team in 2022.

She had an amazing hs season at Assumption HS where she was named Player of the Year!!
