Florida State signs pair of transfers from Texas A&M and Tennessee
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The reigning National Champions continue to reload for the 2024 season as the FSU women’s soccer program picked up two key transfers in Carissa Boeckmann (Texas A&M) and Kameron Simmonds (Tennessee).
Boeckmann and Simmonds are the first two transfers of the 2024 signing class and will join six incoming freshmen as newcomers in 2024.
Boeckmann will come to Tallahassee with one year of eligibility remaining after an illustrious career for Texas A&M. In three seasons with the Aggies, Boeckmann appeared 61 matches while making 30 starts as a midfielder. Boeckmann has scored six goals while adding 10 assists in three seasons. In 2023, Boeckmann played in all 22 matches while making 11 starts. She scored two goals while adding six assists. Her best match of the year came against Grambling where she tallied a career-high three assists. In the Aggies’ two matchups against Florida State this season, Boeckmann logged 76 minutes while taking one shot.
Off the field, Boeckmann was a two-time College Sport Communicators Academic All-District honoree and was also on the SEC’s Academic Honor Roll twice. Boeckmann will be majoring in sport management upon her arrival at FSU.
Tennessee’s leading scorer is coming to Tallahassee as Simmonds had a terrific season for the Lady Vols in 2023. Simmonds started all 18 matches for a Tennessee team that advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. As a sophomore, Simmonds led the Lady Vols with eight goals and 19 total points. She earned SEC Player of the Week honors on Aug. 21 after scoring a goal in the first two games of the season. Simmonds followed that up with a brace in the third game of the season against East Tennessee State. In two seasons with the Lady Vols, Simmonds has scored 12 goals while adding three assists.
Simmonds also has experience on the international level as she represented Jamaica in the 2023 FIFA World Cup on their historic run to the Round of 16.
