Players to Watch: ECNL Girls Dallas 2024 National Event

The second ECNL Girls National Event of 2024 will kick off with ECNL Dallas taking place from February 17-19, 2024 in Dallas, TX. (College Coaches)

ECNL Dallas will feature 224 teams from across the league’s U14-U18/U19 age groups. To view the schedule for ECNL Dallas , click here.

Ahead of the weekend’s action, here are some players to know from this year’s event. Players are listed according to their graduation year.

 

2029

Avery Walbruch | Midfielder
La Roca FC 10 (UT)

A USYNT Training Center invitee, Walbruch serves as the captain of La Roca’s 2010s who are coming off of a big 2-0 win over PacNW in Northwest Conference play. Walbruch is an expert piece that can string together long, sustained possessions in the middle of the field. In addition to her USYNT call-up, she is also a ODP National Team invitee.

Riley Rountree | Forward
Eastside FC 10 (WA)

A two time OPD National Team player(2023 & 2024), Rountree recently scored a hat-trick in a 4-0 victory over Washington Premier. Her tight, consistent dribbling poses major problems for defenders and gives her teammates ample chances at finding the back of the net.

Ella Carr | Defender
Sting Austin 09 (TX)

Recently called up to the National ID2 camp that will be taking place in Spain in April, Carr will be playing up with Sting’s 09s at this weekend’s ECNL event. At the center forward position she is highly effective at moving between defenders and can create clever goal-scoring opportunities for both herself and her teammates in the final third. She also provides ample pressure on defenders, forcing them to make emergency decisions that often lead to interceptions.

Sparked Austin’s attack all fall, scoring 14 goals and tallying 7 assists across all competitions last fall. Pacheco has a clever first touch that she can use to create space between herself and a defender. On the ball, she can either out her teammates with a pass or hammer a shot from anywhere on the pitch.

Olivia Leddy

Leddy, who was invited to the US Soccer Talent ID in October, has had an impressive start to the season and is poised to finish strong. As the captain of the Sting Dallas Black 10G team, she provides excellent leadership skills. Her versatility and exceptional endurance make her a dynamic contributor to the team’s overall strategy. Leddy is skilled at linking defense with midfield and often participates in attacking plays. Her spatial awareness, effective communication, and quick transition between defensive and offensive responsibilities make her a well-rounded player.

Maddie Cervantes

Has captained the Texans to a 6-1-1 record in conference play this season, outscoring their opponents 22-10. Last summer, Cervantes was selected to participate in the first ECNL Conference Cup and has previously participated in the USYNT ID Camps at the U14 level.

Evie Kincaid

At the recent ECNL Phoenix and Tennessee events, Kincaid captained her team to a 5-1 showcase record with a total of three goals and three assists. She is a three-time and most recent USYNT Center Invitee, 2023 ECNL First Team All-Conference, and ECNL Conference Cup Champion.

Gracen Hildebrand | Defender
Boise Thorns 10 (ID)

A left-footed defender, Hildebrand has led a Thorns defense that earned a 3-0 shutout against Northwest Elite late last month. After making the ECNL National Playoffs last season, the Thorns are looking to continue their winning ways in 2024. Hildebrand will play a huge role in that effort, with her lockdown defensive critical in containing the opposition attacking ambitions. She has previously received invitations to participate in the id2 West and ODP West Regional Camps.

Sting Dallas Royal 10 Vaughn (TX)

Organizes a technically sound Sting defense that has allowed just eight goals this season in Texas Conference play. Operating as a number six, Meador was highly effective in the fall at making the difficult track backs and boxing out attackers in open space.

Madison Deal

WA

Anchors a Crossfire defense that has surrendered just four goals thus far in Northwest Conference play. The ECNL Conference Cup invitee can play both in the midfield and defense, excelling in both parts of the field. Her tight ball control and consistent clearances allow her to not only halt attackers advances but also set up the attack.

Jordan Reigrod

Goalkeeper

Between the posts for Legacy, the defending ECNL National Champions, Reigrod has conceded only four goals in the past 18 months. Her ability to scrambled in the box, read the offense and communicate to support her defense makes her more than just an effective shot stopper. She is also a two-sport athlete, applying her superior glove work to the basketball court.

Alexandra Han | Defender
Solar SC 09 (TX)

Called into the U.S. U-14 Girls National Talent ID Camp last May as an outside back, Alex was an unfortunate late scratch due to injury. After recovery, she has come back into the fold with Solar. In their 2-0 win over FC Dallas in the Texas Conference Cup, she played an integral role in securing their spot in the ECNL Playoffs. Her runs off of the ball open up play for Solar and make them a highly difficult attacking team to break down.

Izzie Kamer | Midfielder
Sporting Blue Valley 08 (KS)

Moves effectively without the ball and is excellent at playing 1-2 touch passes to her teammates to help alleviate pressure. In tight spaces, Kamer is quick to remedy the situation with either a quick pass or diagonal run to open up play. Kamer can play both in the defensive midfield and the outside back positions and won back-to-back US Youth Soccer State Cup Championships.

Olivia Hernandez | Defender
FC Wisconsin 09(WI)

In defense, consistency is the key and Hernandez has more than supplied that for Wisconsin. A three year starter for the Midwest club, she has provided leadership and structure in one of the toughest conferences in the ECNL. Her ability to make the stop and immediately transition into the attack has helped backline maintain their shape and receive relief from the opposition’s pressure.

Ari Colquitt | Defender
Solar SC 09 (TX)

A left-footed outside back, Colquitt is effective at shutting down the winger’s progression down the field to slow their attack. She is also highly player and can read the field, knowing when to stay back and defend and when to make the move to overlap and assist in the attack. She sends great through balls up field to spark the offense and has a few assists on crosses this season.

Kailey Aguirre | Midfielder
Challenge SC 08 (TX)

Playing either in the defensive midfield or at the left back position, Aguirre is an integral part of Challenge’s work at building long, sustained possessions. Possessing ample speed, she can break past most defenders and help transition Challenge into the attack.

Marlowe Buchanan | Midfielder
Eclipse Select 09 (IL)

An ODP National Team member and a two-time USYS Regional ID Camp invitee, Buchanan is a starter on Eclipse’s 09 team that finished the winter on a 13-2-2 record across all competitions. Buchanan was a two-time Midwest regional team member.

Utah Avalanche  05/06 (UT)

Playing for both Boys 09 and Girls 05/06 Avalanche ECNL, KK stands out as a dynamic force for both teams. She is a leading goal scorer with the girls and in assists with the boys. A versatile two-footed player, she plays multiple positions for both teams including center forward, winger/wing back, and as an attacking. Her limitless speed allows for her to break past defenders and force them out of position. Despite playing three years above her birth year, she shows remarkable poise and can hold her own physically against older defenders.

A key playmaker for Solar at the forward position, Aguilar currently leads the team in assists. The USWYNT U-15 player (she received a call-up in October of last year) has a strong sense of how to break down defenses and can make small adjustments to help give her team the best chance at success.

An ODP Midwest Regional player who is a starter for her Evolution SC team who plays center back and right/left back. She was an integral part of a successful defense when her team placed first for the fall season in the Heartland Division.

Sealey Strawn

Forward
TX

Netted both of Solar’s goals in their 2-2 draw against United Futbol Academy, leading a high pressure attack that would go on to score eight goals over the course of the weekend. Strawn possesses a strong right foot that can be used to hit shots from distance. But she also has excellent situational awareness and can draw multiple defenders to her, giving her teammates space to create.

Riley Popp

Forward
MO

An extremely dangerous winger, Popp has led an SLSG attack that has scored 12 goals this season. Her speed has helped open up play for Green all season and her tight and consistent ball control helps the team retain possession for long periods of time during the match.

Amanda Brayton

Defender
CA

A talented two-way outside back, Brayton has led a Surf defensive line that have allowed just six goals this season in the Southwest Conference. Quick on the transition, Brayton always seems to be thinking two steps ahead of her opponents and is always looking for space on her side of the pitch to kickstart the counterattack. As a defender, she makes smart, professional tackles that halt her opponents advances.

London Serafim

VA

At the two most recent Showcases (Tennessee and Florida), Serafim has led Richmond’s attacking third with six goals and three assists. Across all competitions, Serafim was integral to United’s 8-5-5 record in all ECNL competitions. For her high school Godwin, Serafim earned All-Metro honorable mention honors last spring.

Clara Dowdle

Defender
TX

One of the top left backs in the Dallas area, Dowdle has a heavy workload going against some of the top attacking talents in the Texas Conference. But she more than holds her own, excelling in one-on-one situations with opponents. The Sachse 2026 defender is also an asset on the attack, making runs from the outside that help open up play for her teammates.

 

Hadley Horton | Defender
North Carolina FC 07 (NC)

Operating from the outside back position, Horton plays a pivotal role in setting up the attack for North Carolina’s 07s. A leader on and off of the field (she is a National President’s Service Award winner), Horton can create goal-scoring opportunities with even the smallest of spaces to operate with. Her crosses and passes into her teammates have led to four assists in recent Showcases for Carolina. In addition to her work for the ECNL club, she is also a member of the ODP South Region Team and has been a member of her high school’s varsity team since her freshman year.

Mia Wiele | Defender
Sting Austin 08 (TX)

A modern, technically-gifted central defender Wiele leads a Sting defense that has allowed just seven goals in Texas Conference play this season and recorded eleven shutouts . Her sense of timing is always on point and she has a real knack for knowing when to lay down a crunching tackle and then immediately find a teammate with a pinpoint pass. Wiele is a USYNT U-16 pool player and is coming off of a big 9-0 win for her high school Westwood, one of the top teams in the state.

Dallas Texans Academy 08 (TX)

Provides constant pressure up top for the Texans, using her speed and quick thinking to to break up possessions before they start. With the ball at her feet she can anticipate what defenders are planning and quickly counter their advances with either a pass out to a teammate or a drive into a gap. She is highly proficient as a holding forward and can build attacking chances with even the smallest of spaces.

Tyller Grimes | Defender
Sting Dallas Black 08 (TX)

Holding down the Sting defense at the center-back position, Grimes has worked seamlessly alongside her defensive line mates to form an imposing backline. At 5’11” she is an asset on both the ground and the air for Sting and was a big reason for them booking their spot in the ECNL National Playoffs. For her high school team TCHS she was named captain for the past two seasons and received the Falcon of the Year award in 2023.

Kaylee Rivera | Defender
DKSC Bones 08 (TX)

A member of the Puerto Rico U17 Youth National Team, Rivera is one of the top defenders in the 2008 age group in Texas. With Puerto Rico, she faced considerable pressure in the Group Stage having to play against three experienced sides in the United States, Canada, and Panama. Despite facing high level competition, Rivera thrived making multiple key clearances and interceptions throughout the competition.

Mackenzie Hildebrand | Defender
Boise Thorns  08 (ID)

Serving as one of the Thorns outside backs, Hildebrand has been highly effective this season at forcing opponents to go into traffic in the center of the pitch. Her speed allows for her to match wingers stride for stride and can make the decisive tackle in open space.

Brooklyn Phongsavath | Midfielder
Utah Avalanche  07 (UT)

A two-time USYNT ID Center invitee, Brooklyn and the Avalanche enter ECNL Dallas on a five game winning streak. Her decisive passing and crisp ball control help spur the attack for Utah out of the midfield. She was a member of her high school’s 6A State Championship team in 2022.

Logan Smith | Midfielder
NCFC Youth ECNL 08 (NC)

Entering ECNL Dallas, Smith coming off of two of her strongest games against top Mid-Atlantic opponents to end the regular season. She consistently demonstrated a physical presence at the #6 with timely tackles, constant pressure on opposing attackers forcing them away from goal, and crisp passes to relieve pressure or begin the counterattack. She looks to continue this strong form in Texas before returning to high school play at the Ravenscroft School where she was last year’s TISAC Conference Player of the Year and a United Soccer Coaches All-State selection.

Utah Avalanche  07 (UT)

Currently holds the Utah high school record for shutouts, Collings blanked 16 of her team’s 21 opponents en route to earning the 6A State Championship. She is a two-time All-State honoree and is coming off of a standout performance between the posts for Utah at ECNL Florida.

Colorado Rapids  08 (CO)

A USYNT ID Center invitee in 2022 and 2023, Masters leads a talented Rapids defense that has earned five clean sheets across all ECNL competitions this season. Her glove work is superb and Masters can artfully parry shots over the bar or wide of the posts.

Abigail Megill | Forward
Real Colorado National 08 (CO)

A multisport athlete (Megill plays varsity soccer, basketball and track field for Lutheran High School), Megill provides a high level of play to Colorado. She can multiple positions on the field including 7, 11, 9, 2, and 3 giving her coaching staff flexibility in planning out their starting eleven. Up top, she can create goal-scoring opportunities within even the smallest of spaces and uses her strength to hold up play and deliver quality passes to her teammates. With Lutheran she led her team to their first-ever Soccer League Championship and Colorado State Championship.

Dallas Texans 07 (TX)

Captained the Texans to shutout results over Colorado Rapids (0-0) and Sporting Iowa (0-0) last fall. As their center back, Fogel provides smart, technical play. She thrives on organizing possession for Dallas and is able to complete a range of passes with both feet. She reads the attack well and excels at passing lanes and winning aerial balls. Her composure on the ball helps to build coordinated attacks originating from the back line.

Leads an imposing Carolina defense that shut out Northern Virginia Alliance last month and held a potent Charlotte Independence attack to just one goal. In 2023, Zimmerman was selected to participate in the USYS South Region ODP ID Camp and was named the Northern Athletic 4A All-Conference Academic and Defender of the Year for Wakefield High School.

Aviana Gutierrez

A 2025 uncommitted, Gutierrez has dominated attackers between the posts for FC Dallas. Combining with fellow goalkeeper and SoccerWire Featured Player Olivia Geller, the dup have combined to hold opponents to just three goals while leading Dallas to an undefeated record (11-0-0, 33 points). At the recent DKSC Thanksgiving Showcase, she held the hosts scoreless while working with 06/05 goalkeeper Macie Murphy to blank Solar SC 6-0.

Layla Thompson

The West Virginia University 2025 verbal commit has been lighting up Texas high school this month, scoring a critical goal in Hebron’s 3-1 win last week. For Dallas, Thompson was instrumental in Dallas’ strong run at the recent ECNL FL event, building attacking chances for a team that scored eleven goals in three games. She was also selected to participate in the ECNL Florida National Selection Game.

Julia Lombardo

Defender
NY

After a standout high school season which saw her lead Albert Magnus High School to the New York Section Final, earning All- League and All- Section honors. Lombardo will be looking to continue her exemplary defensive work with World Class down in the Lonestar state. Although she also plays in the midfield for World Class, she still plays a major role in controlling the pace of the match making key interceptions and helping the team retain their shape. Lombardo has verbally committed to playing college soccer in 2025 at St. John’s.

Kaiya Rickard

Splitting time between the midfield and defense, Rickard links the spine of Atheltics moving the team from a defensive posture to an attacking one. Her patience with the ball and timely passes have helped Kansas City control the pace of matches all season, leading the team to a 10-2-2 record on 32 points.

Peyton Duffing

A Western Michigan verbal commit, Duffing has led the SLSG Navy that has stifled attackers in the Midwest Conference. Thanks to her key clearances and decisive stops, SLSG have allowed just five goals in conference play this season. In addition to her work on the pitch, she is also an ace on the courts for her high school FZW. Those skills and background have positively impacted her work in the beautiful game, helping her footwork and in marking attackers.

Lucy Stenning

Alternates between the outside back and outside midfield positions, using her speed and consistent ball control to control DKSC’s counter-attack. She recently guest played for DKSC’s 07s at ECNL Florida meshing in seamlessly with her new teammates and creating multiple attacking opportunities. At the high school level this winter, she has been on a goal-scoring tear for Flower Mound, providing the opening goal in their 2-0 win over Allen.

Coda Jones

Considered as one of the top midfielders in the country, Coda will be captaining a talented Solar 07 team that is a two-time ECNL Champion. Her steady ball control and controlled timely passes provide structure and shape for her teammate to build attacking chances off of. Jones has verbally committed to playing college soccer in 2025 at Michigan.

Zoe Anderson

A Santa Clara verbal commit, the 5-11 shotstopper is in the throes of another stellar season. Anderson has seen 148 shots through eight games while posting a 90% save percentage. With her NW Elite 07 side showing notable improvement, especially in the midfield and in the attack, her big saves more often serve to protect a lead than to keep Elite in the game. With Anderson setting the tone with her work ethic and resilience under pressure, Elite is set up for a strong push in the second half of the season.

Lucy Kesler | Midfielder
La Roca FC 06/05 (UT)

Captained La Roca to three wins at ECNL Florida over FC Prime (4-1), GSA (3-2), and Michigan Hawks (1-0). The BYU 2025 verbal commit leads by example, scoring the game-winner in their third match against the Hawks to secure the perfect record at the national event. It was her third goal in two days, having scored a brace against Prime to set the tone for a high-scoring weekend for the Utah-based team.

SLSG Navy 07 (MO)

A 2025 St Louis University (SLU) commit, Law is a fast, quick forward that makes smart decisions with on and off of the ball. With her High School, Chatham Glenwood, she had a standout high school season, leading them to first place and a state title win. She broke the school record with 42 goals and earned All-Conference, All-Academic and All-State. She enter the ECNL after being successful with the GA and has helped SLSG Navy 07 team have a successful season.

SLSG Navy 07 (MO)

A 2025 Missouri State University verbal commit, Rowann had a successful high school season at Chatham Glenwood HS scoring the first goal in the IHSA 2A State Championship to help them win 1st place and earned All Conference and All Academic. She played in the GA league where she was invited to play in the Mid-America Talent ID clinic and helped her team make it to the GA Nationals. Over the past few years she was selected twice for the Illinois ODP State Select team, ODP Reg Invite & Regional Pool Team and USYS National President’s Cup Best XI. She now trains and compete in the ECNL league and has helped SLSG Navy 07 team have a successful season.

Brooke Howard | Midfielder
Solar SC 06/05 (TX)

A three time USYNT Training Center attendee and a National Selection Game nominee, Howard is a recognized difference maker on the pitch. As a highly technical midfielder, who is equally good with both feet, Howard relentlessly attacks the goal whether by taking on defenders with the ball at her feet, making great off the ball runs through the defense, finding her forwards through channels behind the defense or shooting well beyond the 18. She also likes to press opponents, forcing them into costly turnovers and leading to goal-scoring chances for Solar.

Portland Thorns 07 (OR)

Operating as a holding midfielder, Jeffries impedes the opposition’s advances with her clean tackling skills and key interceptions. She can also spur the counter-attack with her speedy passes out to the wings and precise ball control.

Chloe Bryant | Forward
Sting Dallas Royal 07 (TX)

A highly versatile player (she can also play in the midfield), Bryant is a captain for both Sting and Memorial High School. At forward, Bryant can break down defenders in one-on-one situations and give her teammates every opportunity at bagging goals. In the midfielder, she can lay in pinpoint passes to her teammates while also stopping any passes or advances by the opposition.

Lauren Rotan | Defender
Sting Dallas Royal 05/06 (TX)
Anchors a Sting defense that has earned six shutouts this season thus far. In slowing down attackers, Rotan can angle her track backs to limit her opponents ability to create goal-scoring opportunities. She is also an asset on the attack, having scored three goals and tallied two assists thus far this season. Lauren has committed to playing college soccer next season at Lubbock Christian University.
