Lonestar SC teams joining ECNL Girls Regional Leagues for 2024-25 season

RICHMOND, Va. – The ECNL Girls announced the addition of Lonestar SC to both the ECNL Regional League – Texas and the ECNL Regional League – USC for the 2024-25 season, fully aligning the club at multiple levels within the ECNL pyramid.

Lonestar SC’s addition to the ECNL Regional League will provide their teams and players with the opportunity to face outstanding regional competition, great college showcasing opportunities, and a tremendous post-season pathway to the ECNL RL Playoffs and ECNL RL Finals.

Located in Austin, Texas, Lonestar SC has a history of developing players to collegiate, professional, and national levels, with hundreds of their players reaching these heights since the club’s inception in 2004. Lonestar SC Executive Director of Soccer Brian Monaghan believes the acceptance into the ECNL Girls will best align the club with their continuing commitment to develop the top players in Texas moving forward.

“The decision to return our LSC Girls National Program to the ECNL platform aligns with our club’s commitment to the long-term development of individual players and teams, and reflects the evolving soccer landscape in Texas and the US,” said Monaghan. “By being a part of the league as a whole, we recognize the value of the ECNL RL platform and pathway which provides a solid foundation for the growth and success of our players. This decision also signifies the alignment within our club across both girls and boys programs, showcasing our commitment to fostering a cohesive and inclusive soccer community. This investment in the long-term future of our club and players demonstrates our dedication to excellence and growth within the sport and matches the vision and values of ECNL.”

“We are very excited to welcome Lonestar into the ECNL Girls Regional League,” said Commissioner Ralph Richards.  “They will strengthen the competition within both of the leagues in which they are participating, and their players will have a tremendous opportunity to grow and develop.  The values and vision of Brian and his staff fully align with those of the ECNL, and we look forward to working together for the long term.”

Over time, Lonestar and all other clubs in the ECNL Regional League have a potential pathway to earn promotion into the ECNL Girls based upon exceptional performance over multiple age groups.  In the past 3 years, 18 clubs across the country have earned promotion to the ECNL through their on-field performances.
