Six more players who drew attention from scouts at the Jefferson Cup Girls Showcase
The 2024 Jefferson Cup Girls Showcase Weekend delivered an action-packed slate of cross-league competition between some of the top teams in the country.
Along with the many ECNL and Girls Academy teams on hand for the Jeff Cup Girls Showcase, there were plenty of high level teams competing from outside the two marquee leagues as well. The top-rated showcase event provides 1,000s of players each year with the opportunity to play in front of scouts who may not otherwise have the time or travel budgets to see them.
Longtime scout Jerry Penkala, owner and operator of JTF Academy, provided SoccerWire with a rundown of 6 more players from various leagues who stood out during his time watching the action in Richmond. 6 More Jefferson Cup Girls Showcase Standouts
Alexandra Bull – Midfielder (2025)
Coppermine SC ’07 – USYS Elite 64 – Jersey #17
This clever, smart, quick attacking mid was just as tough defensively as she was impactful offensively in the midfield. She had most of the game go through her and completed over 90% of her passes while also showing heart, grit and effort getting back when her team lost possession, to disrupt defensively.

Savannah Callaway – Midfielder / Forward (2026)
AFC Lightning ’07 – Girls Academy – Jersey #77
This front runner had as much speed as I saw all weekend, and easily had the quickest release on her rocket shot of any forward I watched. She also had great size and when she learns to play more with her back to the goal in the final third as her recruiting moves along, she could end up one of the better overall offensive threats in 2026.

Molly Mallebranche – Defender (2025)
AFC Lightning ’07 – Girls Academy – Jersey #16
At 6’1 and extremely athletic and strong, Molly was one of the most intimidating and smartest defenders I saw at Jeff Cup. She was constantly directing her back line to the right adjustments, was very encouraging and helpful while doing so, and for her size and height, she was also one of the fastest defenders at the showcase. Molly showed outstanding 1v1 technical ability when anyone made the mistake of trying to take her on. A real find that college coaches need to seek out.

Eva Canevari – Forward (2025)
HEX FC ’07 – ECNL RL – Jersey #25
Eva was the best overall ECNL Regional League offensive player I saw at the Jefferson Cup. She was extremely quick and skilled on the ball in tight midfield or final third spaces. She outworked everyone on the field in the game I saw and had maybe the best free kick ability I saw as well.

Ellie Bozzo – Center Back (2024)
NJ Premier FC ’07 – ECNL RL – Jersey #11
It was pretty easy to see why this center back is committed to the University of Richmond. The tall and strong center back had her back line organized and positioned perfectly, while offering support immediately when needed on the flanks. She also had a huge and accurate free kick, and was calm in all defensive situations.

Maya Lloyd – Midfielder (2025)
New England Surf ’07 – DPL – Jersey #8
An attacking mid that was also impactful and fast in spaces on the right flank, she got up and down the field with her outstanding work rate. Maya was placing all of her passes into the final third on a dime and making all the right choices, finding the most dangerous teammate all game.
