Oregon expands 2024 signing class with addition of two California recruits
EUGENE, Ore. – All-CIF selections Kate Kubiak and Kiley Fehrenbacher will join the soccer team as freshmen this fall, head coach Graeme Abel announced.
Fehrenbacher, from San Diego, helped lead Point Loma High School to the California state Division 1 semifinals in 2022 and to a league championship in 2023. Kubiak, from Newport Beach, Calif., was a key part of a Newport Harbor High School team that won the Wave League championship in 2021 and 2022.

Point Loma High School, Clubs: ALBION SC / DMCV Sharks
Named all-district, all-division and all-state after leading Point Loma High School to a league championship and the CIF state semifinals. Was named to the CIF Division 1 first team in 2022-23 after Point Loma won the league title. In 2022, Point Loma was a semifinalist in CIF Division 1 and was a finalist in the CIF Open Division League. Was named Point Loma’s rookie of the year for both the junior varsity (2020-21) and varsity (2021-22) teams. Her club team, ALBION SC, won the Copa Del Mar Cup in 2022. She was named to the Southwest League second team in 2023 for DMCV Sharks. In the classroom, she earned a spot on the CIF Division 1 all-academic team and was named one of the top nine percent of students in California.
Fehrenbacher on Oregon: “I was most impressed by the quality of both the University itself and its athletic programs. I knew as a student-athlete on campus that I would receive an immense amount of support. Knowing that the school valued their athletes greatly impressed me. More specifically, the resources given to the women’s soccer team impressed me. I knew that, as a soccer player, I would not be left to fend for myself. I’d have a group of built in friends and mentors through playing college soccer. Overall, I was impressed by the community created at the University of Oregon.”

Newport Harbor High School, Club: West Coast Futbol Club
Named the 2023 Sunset League defensive MVP. Named to the second team for both the all-CIF Southern Section and the OC Register all-County. Helped lead her team to Wave League championships in 2021 and 2022. In 2024, Newport Harbor went 14-6-4 in the regular season and qualified for the CIF tournament. Team captain. Her club team, West Coast Futbol Club, was Surf Cup champions in 2023 and was a GA national semifinalist in 2021. Attended the Southwest Talent ID camp in 2022 and 2023.
Kubiak on Oregon: “One of the things that impressed me the most about UO soccer is how much the coaches and the University care about their athletes as people. I’m also impressed with the constant growth in the program as they continue to get better each game, and find ways to constantly enhance the performance of their athletes.”
