2011 Icebreaker: Saturday’s action in the U12 Boys’ Gold Group
With two five-goal games to open U12B Gold play in the PWSI Icebreaker tournament at Howison Park, Manchester United of Prince William County is currently atop Flight A with two wins in the PWSI Icebreaker tournament.
In a nine-goal match, United defeated FASA Hotspur Premier 5-4 in its opener before shutting out Locomotive FC U12B Black 5-0 in the second game.
HYC Rovers North sits in second place in Flight A with one win and one tie, defeating Locomotive FC U12B Black, 7-1, and tying FASA Hotspur Premier 3-3 in the second game.
In Flight B, VISTA Eagles 98 is in first place with a 2-0 mark after a 2-0 win over TSC Revolution and a 5-2 win over McLean Celtic Gold.
TSC Revolution and McLean Celtic Gold are tied for second place with 1-1 records, with both teams getting wins over Reston 98 United. TSC Revolution defeated Reston 98 United 3-0, while McLean Celtic Gold won 3-1.
Each team has one more game in flight play Sunday, with those games sorting out who will finish atop both flights and face each other in the championship game later in the day.
