Cosmos renew broadcast deal with ONE World Sports

NEW YORK (February 2, 2015) – The New York Cosmos announced today that the club has renewed its agreement with ONE World Sports to serve as its exclusive television and multiplatform home. ONE World Sports will televise all of the team’s games in high definition during the 2015 NASL Fall and Spring Seasons, including road game broadcasts. This marks the first time the network has aired the team’s regular-season road games.

“This is great news for our fans and another step in the growth our club and the NASL.” Cosmos Chief Operating Officer Erik Stover said.  “ONE World Sports, with its very high-quality production values, has been a tremendous partner for us, so we’re delighted that our road games will also be broadcast this season.”

The Cosmos will face the Fort Lauderdale Strikers for the club’s Spring Season opener onApril 4. The Strikers made news in the offseason with their addition of Brazilian soccer legend Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima to their ownership group.  The game will also see the Cosmos debut of the club’s offseason addition, legendary Spanish striker Raúl González Blanco.

“Cosmos fans have been clamoring to see away games,” said Alexander “Sandy” Brown, ONE World Sports president and CEO. “Thanks to our new agreement, we’ll be able to ensure fans can catch all the action throughout the spring and fall NASL seasons.”

The Cosmos will make their home debut on April 18 at Hofstra University’s Shuart Stadium against the Tampa Bay Rowdies.

ONE World Sports is available via Verizon FiOS, DISH Network, Charter Communications, Cablevision’s Optimum TV, Mediacom Communications, Hawaiian Telcom, Google Fiber, RCN, Atlantic Broadband and a growing number of systems through the NCTC. The network is also available on mobile devices via its Watch ONE World Sports App for authenticated customers.
