National Elite Soccer Showcase cancelled due to snow
The 2015 National Elite Soccer Showcase (NESS), originally scheduled to host a high level group of teams representing ECNL, U.S. Soccer Development Academy, US Youth Soccer and US Club Soccer, has been cancelled due to snow. The event is hosted by Albertson Soccer Club and is played on Long Island.
Between 16 and 20 inches of snow has fallen on Long Island in the last two weeks, leaving the fields unplayable with ice and snow still covering the turf.
Both NESS and the Manhattan Kickoff Classic, two of the highest level showcase events on the East Coast, were forced to cancel their tournaments scheduled for this weekend due to the inclement weathe
