Zoe Foxhall, Jen Boyles, Kristina Diana added to Virginia Tech 2015 recruiting class

BLACKSBURG (Via Virginia Tech) – Virginia Tech head women’s soccer coach Chugger Adair announced the addition of three signees to the 2015 class Thursday. Zoe Foxhall, Kristina Diana and Jen Boyles will finalize the Hokies’ incoming freshman class.

“I’m excited to have these three as part of the Virginia Tech family and the 2015 class,”

Adair said. “I think it completes the class and makes it stout from top to bottom. This is a large number of kids who will make an impact, some right at the start, and some throughout their careers.”

The three newcomers will join a class of seven other signees. Foxhall, Diana and Boyles join Kelsey Irwin, Heather Timothy, Alia Abuelhawa, Caroline Kerns, Megan Goudy and Anissa Dadkhah as incoming freshman next fall. Gracie DeGooyer, a transfer from the University of Tennessee, joined the program this spring.

Tech will continue training throughout the spring, playing in multiple exhibition games. Last Saturday, Tech took the field against an NWLS professional team, the Washington Spirit, where they fell 4-0 in a game that served as one of the Spirit’s preseason games. This Saturday, March 28, Tech will host NCAA Elite-Eight participant Penn State at Thompson Field for a rematch of Tech’s Sweet 16 game. The spring competition will finish with the Southern Soccer Showcase on April 18, where the Hokies will battle Charlotte and North Carolina.

Jen Boyles

Coach Adair’s Take: “Jen Boyles come from a very good northern Virginia club, BRYC. She’s very technical. She’s a smart soccer player who can play many different positions. I’ve seen her play in the outside mid, outside back spots. She can play both sides because she’s very technical with both feet and makes very good decisions on the field.

Kristina Diana
5-5, Midfielder, Fairfax, Va. (South County High School)
High School/Club: Four-year letter-winner at South County High School under coach Jean Coder … Two-time First-Team All District selection … Named to Second-Team All-Region … Named Washington Post All-Met Honorable-Mention … Played two years for the McLean ECNL … Played for FC Virginia ECNL for six years.
Personal: Daughter of Dino and Kim Diana … Has two sisters, Lisa and Nikki, and one brother, Steven … Majoring in University Studies … Four-year honor-roll student at South County High School.
Coach Adair’s Take: “Dino is a very good attacking player. She has an attacking personality that can be dangerous around goal. She’s a very good finisher and she’s proven she can score goals with every team she’s been with. We’re looking forward to her doing the same here at Virginia Tech and competing for a spot right away in the midfield and up front.”

Coach Adair’s Take: “Zoe came into the mix with us a little bit late in the process. She’s a very good, solid goalkeeper with a lot of upside. We’re looking for her to come in and compete and provide depth at the keeper spot. She’s an engineering major who’s very smart in the classroom and very good on the field as well.”
