Holmdel, NJ (Via NJCSA) – New Jersey Cedar Stars Academy (NJCSA) has announced the hiring of Anthony Tuesta and Gabriel Michelle as youth coaches. Tuesta and Michelle will oversee and be responsible for the U8 – U12 Northeast Pre-Academy (NEPAL) and Elite travel league teams, as well as the Junior Development Academy (JDA) for ages 5-7.

Tuesta comes to NJCSA after a very successful playing and coaching career in New Jersey. He most recently has been involved as a youth coach for Elite NPL teams at Parsippany Soccer Club. He has been successful coaching all age groups; winning league and tournament titles for various youth teams as well as a National Championship for Parsippany in the Super 20 finals last summer. In addition to his extensive youth development experience, Tuesta is also an Assistant Coach for New Jersey City University (NJCU) on the college level (NCAA DIII). As a player Tuesta was a 2x All Conference, All-Region player, and a 2006 All American and NJAC Offensive Player of the Year at Kean University, where he graduated with a degree in Spanish.

Michelle comes to NJCSA after working with the New York Red Bull organization as a youth development coach and most recently with the New Jersey Olympic Development program. He has an extensive coaching education both in the US and abroad having spent a season with Hercules CF in Spain. He was recently invited to join the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Coaching Staff, making him one of the youngest NSCAA Staff coaches in the country. Michelle is no stranger to the standards and demands involved with the US Development Academy, having participated as a player for Clearwater Chargers SC before finishing his playing career at Seton Hall University; where he graduated with a degree in Diplomacy and International Relations.

“Being able to bring both of these accomplished young coaches onto our full time staff shows the commitment we have as a club to youth player development. We are excited for Anthony and Gabriel to use their experience to positively impact the entire youth structure of NJCSA,” said Tab Ramos, President of NJCSA.

Brian O’Donnell, Director of Soccer Operations for NJCSA said, “We are fortunate to have these two young coaches joining our club. Both bring talent and energy onto the staff.”
