Jermaine Jones, Sacha Kljestan depart from USMNT training camp

CHICAGO (Via U.S. Soccer) – U.S. Men’s National Team head coach Bruce Arena has released midfielders Jermaine Jones and Sacha Kljestan from January Camp following Sunday’s 0-0 draw with Serbia.

With Jones suspended for the U.S. MNT’s March 24 World Cup Qualifying match against Honduras in San Jose, Arena has allowed the midfielder to return to the LA Galaxy to begin preseason as he surveys other options during Friday’s friendly against Jamaica in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Kljestan has been allowed to return home as he and his wife expect to welcome a newborn baby in the coming week.

The U.S. MNT roster now stands at 21 players ahead of Friday’s match against regional rival Jamaica.
