(Via Super Y League) – Super Y League member Ironbound Soccer Club has been granted approval from the U.S. Soccer Federation to host the 2017 La Liga Promises International Under-12 Boys Soccer Tournament, which will be held from June 23-25.

Teams scheduled to play in the competition include Ironbound SC, Real Madrid C.F., FC Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla FC, Valencia CF, Villarreal, S.L. Benfica, Inter Milan, Club America, Atlético Nacional and New York City FC.

“It is an honor for Ironbound SC to host this prestigious event,” Ironbound Chairman Albert Coutinho said. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our kids, club and community. We are humbled by the trust that La Liga, one of the finest professional sports organizations in the world, and the Morena Foundation have placed in us.”

Ironbound SC – which is based in Newark, New Jersey – is a founding member of the Super Y League. The club has won five championships at the SYL North American Finals, including the Under-13 Boys competition in 2016.

“We have a lot of work ahead of us, and our entire family of coaches, managers, players and parents are fully engaged to make this a memorable event,” Ironbound SC Director of Operations John Soares said. “We simply couldn’t be more excited.”
