Cincinnati United announces 52 college commitments for 2018

(Via Cincinnati United Soccer Club) – Cincinnati United Soccer Club has announced its list of college commitments for the graduating class of 2018. In all, 52 student athletes will be playing college soccer this fall at a college or university.

More student athletes are finalizing their college decisions in the coming weeks. Cincinnati United Soccer Club has sent more than 500 players off to play college soccer through the years and continues to lead the way in preparing student athletes for the next level.

“Signing day is always a special time,” said Cincinnati United Executive Director Scott Rodgers. “I am so proud and excited for our players as they prepare to take their game and schooling to the next level. They have all worked so hard to earn this opportunity and I am looking forward to watching them all take on the future.”

“I’m extremely proud of the CUP players and coaching staff for this fantastic achievement,” said CUP Girls Technical Director Phil Nielsen. “To have over 50 players commit to play in college is such an accomplishment. It is clear evidence that CUP has established itself as a national powerhouse in elite youth soccer development. This is exactly the reason that I was so excited to come join the CUP family.”

“We are very excited to see our boys from both CU and CUP realize their dream to play soccer in college,” said CUP Boys Technical Director Scott Bower. “This is not an opportunity many young men get to realize and has been accomplished with focus, hard work, and with support from their families. The boys, parents, and their siblings should be applauded for the sacrifices they have all made to make this possible. It is our hope that CU/CUP has played at least a small part in supporting their efforts! Best of luck to our boys in their next step of their career and know that they are always welcome back to their club to help inspire the next generation.”
