Super Y League welcomes CUSA SC as new member club

TAMPA, Fla. (Via Super Y League) – Based in Dayton, Ohio, CUSA Soccer Club has been unveiled as a member of the Super Y League ahead of the 2019 season. The club will compete in the Midwest Division, which has seen tremendous growth over recent years.

“We’re excited to have CUSA Soccer Club join the Super Y League for the 2019 season,” said Dominic Colarusso, USL Manager of Youth League Growth & Development. “As a league, furthering the league’s footprint in Ohio is a key objective. Establishing a presence in Columbus (Columbus East FC) last year and now in Dayton (CUSA SC) for 2019, we’re setting ourselves up for positive, stable growth in the region.”

CUSA SC established its roots in the 1970s and has since become a top soccer program in Ohio. With courses designed for players from age two through adulthood, CUSA Soccer Club aims to build a strong culture that extends beyond the soccer field and instills core life values.

A club that prides itself on youth and adult development, CUSA SC has not only helped improve its players but also its coaching staff. Over the years, the organization has helped provide its staff with accessibility to top coaching courses, both in the United States and abroad.

“CUSA Soccer Club is delighted to have been accepted into Super Y League,” said Paddy King, Director of Coaching at CUSA SC. “A club of CUSA’s stature and history needs to extend its reach into some of the toughest competition around, and Super Y League certainly allows us to do this. As a club that believes in player and coach development at its core, it will be fantastic for us to show what we can do on a bigger stage.”

The organization has become a steady force in Ohio over the years, which has prompted CUSA to complete the move to Super Y League in 2019.

“The club is in a stronger position than ever and we feel that as a big part of the community we are best placed to offer players in the area the opportunity of playing in Super Y League and benefiting from the experience that they will gain from the professional staff, advanced player tracking and the chance to compete against some of the strongest teams for a National Championship,” said King.

With the club’s entry, CUSA Soccer becomes the third organization to join Super Y League ahead of the 2019 season, with Cedar Stars Academy – Bergen County and Massapequa SC also set to begin play next year.
