ECNL Alums make up 70% of Big Ten Conference in 2018

RICHMOND, VA (Via ECNL) – For the fourth consecutive year, ECNL Alums constitute the majority of women’s collegiate soccer players in the Big Ten. In 2018, ECNL Alums make up 70% of the entire Big Ten in 2018, and over 60% of the conference’s individual honorees.

Ten years ago, the Girls ECNL transformed the landscape for girls’ soccer and began a movement that would impact all levels of women’s soccer. The ECNL College Impact catalogs the major impact ECNL Alums have on collegiate women’s soccer conferences across the country every year.

The ECNL College Impact for the Big Ten Conference includes all players currently active on Big Ten rosters:

• 161 ECNL Alum are currently playing in the Big Ten Conference – 70% of the total players in the Big Ten.
• Big Ten Forward of the Year (April Bocking), Big Ten Midfielder of the Year (Emily Ogle) and Big Ten Freshman of the Year (Meagan McClelland) are an ECNL Alums.
• There are 62 ECNL Alums in the 2018 Big Ten freshman class, over 50% of the class.
• Over 70% of the 2018 First Team All-Big Ten are ECNL Alums and 75% of the players on the 2018 Big Ten Second and Third Team are ECNL Alums.
