CHICAGO (Via Loyola Chicago) – Loyola University Chicago head women’s soccer coach Barry Bimbi announced the addition of Abbey Hillman (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) to his 2019 recruiting class.

“We are very excited to add Abbey to our talented 2019 class,” Bimbi said. “She can play multiple positions, is dynamic off the dribble and has shown the ability to score big goals for her club team. It’s great to add such a versatile player as we prepare for the season ahead.”

Hillman arrives in Rogers Park from Naperville Central High School, where, under the direction of head coach Ed Watson, she earned 2018 All-DuPage Valley Conference (DVC) honors as she helped lead the Redhawks to a regional title. The 5-foot-4 midfielder/defender also featured on the club level for current Loyola volunteer assistant coach Chris Brown’s Team Chicago, capturing the Disney Showcase Championship in 2017.

Hillman has also been lauded for her work in the classroom, earning back-to-back Academic All-DVC nods and recognition as an Illinois State Scholar.

With Hillman’s addition, Loyola’s 2019 recruiting class now stands at eight. More information on the previously announced members can be found here. Bimbi is also set to return 19 letterwinners as Loyola looks to defend its Missouri Valley Conference regular season and tournament titles.
