NCSL 2012 fall season gets underway

The National Capital Soccer League began its 2012 fall season with a full slate of games in the Under-9 through U-19 age groups.
Here’s a quick review of the weekend’s Division 1 action:
• U-12 Division 1: Six teams won at least one game over the weekend, including SAC United Premier Blue, FC Virginia Fury, Takoma Azzurri and Bethesda Blue, with each winning their respective matches over the weekend. FWSA ES Firpo and MPS 00 Hotspur Green of McLean both went 1-1-0 over the weekend.
• U-13 Division 1: CYA Cesena 99 won twice over the weekend, 4-3 over Barca FC 99 Premier and 4-0 over SAC United Premier White. MPS 99 Fire Green and Bethesda Blue 99 both won by large margins, MPS defeating Barca FC 99 Premier 10-0 and Bethesda Blue 99 winning 9-0 over CYA Cesena 99 Purple.
• U-14 Division 1: NVSC Jr. Royals 98 had a nine goal weekend in winning twice to start the season, while SYC Strikers Blue, ASA Real, TSC United, Olney Roadrunners Blue and Herndon Rovers East also scored wins over the weekend, though the Olney and Herndon teams also lost a game over the weekend, too.
• U-15 Division 1: VSA Heat 97 White and Arsenal 97 Premier won twice without a loss to open the weekend, while Chantilly Strikers and MSC Falcons picked up wins in their lone matches of the weekend. Waldorf SC 97 Orange, meanwhile, split a pair of games, while MSC Diplomats tied and Barca 97 Elite tied and lost over the weekend.
• U-16 Division 1: Team America 96 won a pair of games on its opening weekend, while Herndon Boca Juniors scored a win and a tie to start the season. ABGC United Spartans and ASA Milan Black Hawks each won their lone games, while VYS Premier White and Calverton Barza Unidos split a pair of games. Sterling FC Elite Black 96 tied twice.
• U-17 Division 1: BAC Real Blue opened with two wins and six goals over the weekend. GRFL Venom and NVSC Jr. Royals 95 opened with a win and a tie, and Herndon Athletic and ASA Extreme each picked up wins.
• U-19 Division 1: ABGC Knights FC started its fall 2012 NCSL season with two wins, and VYS United, SYC Titans, LMVS Patriots 93 Red and Team America 93 also scored wins.
