What made you decide to verbally commit to UNC?
I decided to verbally commit to UNC because of the rich history of the soccer program and the family atmosphere they had within the whole team and staff
What was the recruiting process like and what did you learn about yourself while going through it?
The process was a little overwhelming at times. I had to learn how to balance my time and schedule even more to make sure I gave each school the time they needed. I enjoyed being able to walk through what pregame/postgame days are like in the programs. I learned that I was also being recruited for who I am as a person not just my abilities on the field.
How do you feel your strengths on the field will help the Tar Heels?
I feel that my strength to create space for others or myself will help with quick counters to catch the opposition while they are unorganized.
What are your favorite subjects in school and what do you think you would like to study in college?
As of right now Spanish and history are my favorite but it ends up switching every semester. I’m not sure what I’m going to study in college yet but I’m looking forward to finding out what I enjoy the most.
What has your experience been like playing for Solar SC so far?
Solar has been great. Being able to play and practice against high caliber players, has helped raise my game to another level.
You earned All-Conference honors in the ECNL’s Texas Conference last season once again. What does that mean to you?
It’s an honor to be recognized and I am thankful for the individual recognition. It motivates me to continue to work hard. I also see this as a team award and want to thank my teammates for helping me achieve it.
What are your favorite pair of cleats that you have ever owned?
I’d have to say the all white Nike Mercurials. Honestly thinking about getting some new ones again.
If you could give one piece of advice to a younger player that wants to play at a high level, what would it be?
Be confident and enjoy the game. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes on the field, soccer is a game full of mistakes. How you respond to disappointments and setbacks will have an effect on your growth. It’s an opportunity to learn.
Is there anyone that you would like to give a shoutout to who has helped you both on and off of the field?
My mom and dad, I am who I am today because of them. My older brother who was the very reason I even started soccer in the first place. All my past and present coaches, and the biggest shoutout to God, who I give all the glory to!
