SoccerWire is publishing Q&A articles with players who have Featured Profiles in the SoccerWire Recruiting Directory. The series allows players to share their stories on the college recruiting process, playing the game at the international level, travel and high school soccer, and their passion for the beautiful game.

In this edition we will showcase Ryder Ajeto, who plays club soccer in the ECNL for Legends FC, and has verbally committed to play for the Florida State Seminoles in 2026.

What made you decide to verbally commit to Florida State?

I decided to commit to Florida State because I connected with the mindset of the program, their style of play, vision for the future and the quality of the players and coaching staff. I was also impressed with the amazing support the program receives from FSU students, staff and the community.

What was the recruiting process like and what did you learn about yourself while going through it?

The best way to describe my recruiting process is – incredible. I spoke to schools in every region of the country. I received offers from many top programs, and I met so many incredible coaches, staff and players. I made connections that have lasted beyond recruiting. I was really humbled by the experience. I learned that I don’t really have a comfort zone and I’m ready for what happens next in my career. It’s amazing to see my hard work paying off.

How do you feel your strengths on the field will help the Seminoles?

I’m excited to play with such high-level teammates and coaches. I think my strengths of playing off my teammates, going at goal with speed, getting behind the back line, shooting with either foot and taking advantage of small windows of opportunity will allow me to be a threatening force at the next level. That said, I’m grateful to be in a position to learn and grow from my Noles family both as a player and person.

You’ve received multiple opportunities to represent the U.S. Women’s Youth National Team. What has that experience been like for you?

It’s such an honor and I’m grateful for each opportunity I get to wear the crest and be a part of the USWYNT. My experience has been awesome. Meeting new players, building friendships with teammates, training with amazing coaches, learning new systems and styles has been rewarding on so many levels.

What are your favorite subjects in school and what do you think you would like to study in college?

My favorite subjects in school are English and Science. I’m excited to explore the different programs and degrees available at Florida State, having access so many options is awesome.

What has your experience been like playing for Legends FC so far?

Legends FC is great. I played with a lot of these players and coaches when I was 9 and 10 years old so I’m happy to be back with this group. Many of us are moving on to college after this season. To end our youth careers hopefully making a run for the championship together is incredible.

What are your favorite pair of cleats that you have ever owned?

My favorite pair of cleats are the Nike Mercurial Superfly Elites. I like to customize my cleats to be different. Sometimes designed with bright colors or patterns that don’t always match and I like to add some text to them that means something special to me.

If you could give one piece of advice to a younger player that wants to play at a high level, what would it be?

I would tell them to Be Different – think different, train different and have different expectations.

Is there anyone that you would like to give a shoutout to who has helped you both on and off of the field?

I would like to shoutout my family. They are my biggest supporters and do so much for me. I’d also like to shoutout my teammates, past and present, having great players around you, working together, supporting each other is amazing.
