Players from UNC, Duke and Wake Forest named 2024 MAC Hermann Trophy finalists

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – United Soccer Coaches and the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) announced the women’s finalists for the 2024 MAC Hermann Trophy, based on voting by NCAA Division I women’s soccer coaches.

The three finalists are North Carolina junior forward Kate Faasse (Phoenix, Ariz), Duke graduate midfielder Maggie Graham (Atlanta, Ga.) and Wake Forest junior forward Caiya Hanks (Kailua-Kona, Hawai’i).

Faasse led the Tar Heels with 44 points behind her nation-leading 20 goals and four assists as North Carolina captured its 23rd NCAA National Championship and first national title since 2012. Graham started 16 matches for the Blue Devils in helping them to the NCAA College Cup and an overall record of 18-3-1.  Hanks was one of the nation’s leaders in assists with 12 while scoring 11 goals and was instrumental in Wake Forest returning to the NCAA College Cup and a 16-4-4 record this season.

The MAC Hermann Trophy, the most coveted individual honor in NCAA Division I soccer, has been awarded annually since 1967. The 2024 MAC Hermann Trophy banquet will be held at the historic Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis on Jan. 3, 2025, to formally announce this year’s winners.
