Top ECNL Florida Stories:

Chicago Inter Shines in Florida:

Chicago Inter had an outstanding weekend in Florida, winning all their games in both the 07/06 and 08 age groups.

At the 08 age group, Chicago Inter picked up wins over Dallas Texans, FSA FC, and FC Stars White, while not conceding a goal throughout the weekend, while at the 07/06 age group they defeated South Shore Select, Colorado Rush Academy, and Orlando City.

“I’m so happy with this group,” said Technical Director Sena Halilovic following Chicago Inter’s win over Orlando City. “90 percent of these players are committed to college and they brought a great performance. It’s amazing and I’m just proud of them.”

Halilovic said the games provided a great opportunity for the remaining uncommitted players to showcase themselves in front of college coaches, but he was extremely proud of how the entire team put forth such a great effort throughout the event.

“That’s our culture. It doesn’t matter if you’re committed or not committed. They are always out there to support their teammates,” said Halilovic. “It was an amazing weekend. A lot of college coaches were on the sidelines and it’s huge for them.”

Brooke Bunton’s Seven Goal Weekend Leads the Way for Jacksonville FC

Jacksonville FC’s 07/06 team shined in Florida, picking up wins in all three of their games, while only conceding one goal along the way.

Midfielder Brooke Bunton stood out for Jacksonville FC, scoring seven of the team’s 15 goals throughout the event.

“We’ve had some losses lately, so this was a really good weekend to come out and have fun with our team, and showcase our talents,” Bunton said.

Bunton believes the three game winning streak will help Jacksonville FC build some confidence and momentum as they head into the rest of the conference schedule in the Spring.

“It definitely built a lot of team chemistry. We didn’t get down even when we got scored on. We were able to bounce back, continue to play well, and finish our chances.”
