SoccerWire is publishing Q&A articles with players who have Featured Profiles in the SoccerWire Recruiting Directory. The series allows players to share their stories on the college recruiting process, playing the game at the international level, travel and high school soccer, and their passion for the beautiful game.

In this edition we will showcase Audrey Stredde, who plays club soccer in the ECNL for Rockford Raptors FC and has verbally committed to play for UW Green Bay in 2026.

What made you decide to verbally commit to UW Green Bay?

I had a list of about 5-10 factors or “needs” on my list along with a few wants and a few things I could live without. I then went through the checklist multiple times and realized Green Bay has exactly what I wanted: medium size campus, close to home, good facilities, academic support, etc.

What was the recruiting process like and what did you learn about yourself while going through it?

It was a bit rough. Exciting but also difficult at times. In my experience I had quite a few conversations starting June 15th. I’d say a few weeks later that died down to a few which is very normal and a bit of panic came. After 2-3 more ECNL events I got even more exposure and a ton of new interest which was super exciting. Green Bay’s offer was competing with another school which definitely made it more difficult to make a decision. I finally decided on Green Bay and thought it was time to just focus on getting better and let everything work out and not have that stress anymore. I was completely wrong. A coaching change occurred which made me reevaluate everything which goes to show that anything can happen and nothing is permanent. I really enjoyed speaking with the new coach and have decided to stay in hopes of being apart of something bigger!

How do you feel your strengths on the field will help your college team?

I find myself a very composed and relaxed player. There’s a difference between being slow moving and calm. College speed of play is quick but it’s important not to panic and I feel I do a good job with that. I am also strong when it comes to decision making. I’m quick with my movements and anticipate well and know when to pass, drive, double team, shoot, etc. which all help in the next level.

What are your favorite subjects in school and what do you think you would like to study in college?

My favorite subjects are Spanish and health. I really enjoy learning more about the human body and i look forward to staying with the “athlete” side of academia. Spanish is honestly just cool and so different. It’s a change of pace in my day and I love to learn about other cultures.

What has your experience been like playing for Rockford Raptors in the ECNL?

My experience has been awesome! Of course there are hard days with training and driving to rockford 3-5 days a week but you have to have the passion for it and I do. The college exposure in ECNL is more than I could ever imagine. It puts things into perspective of how grateful and blessed I am to have these opportunities to play the game.

What are your favorite pair of cleats that you have ever owned?

My purple/blue nike mercurial superflys!!!! I live by nike and need need need a sock cleat!

If you could give one piece of advice to a younger player that wants to play at a high level, what would it be?

Just keep going. Simple. Do not overcomplicate. Just work. Do your own thing, do not compare. Do the work yourself and do it when you don’t want to. It will all work out.

Is there anyone that you would like to give a shoutout to who has helped you both on and off of the field?

I am forever grateful for my parents support both financially and emotionally. Also my old and current club coaches who have taught me the physical and mental side of the game. Lastly my teammates, friends and community. I wouldn’t be here without them today and soccer is a team sport so I appreciate every single one of them.
