Players That Impressed: ECNL Girls Texas National Event (Winter 2025)

The Winter 2025 ECNL Girls Texas National Event took place over the weekend as some of the top teams in the nation gathered for the event.

ECNL Texas featured a total of 210 teams across the U14-U18/19 age groups, competing over the course of Presidents Day Weekend in the Dallas area. (COLLEGE COACHES)

Tori Vassor | Forward 
Sting Austin 09 (TX)

The US Youth Soccer ODP National Select Team forward delivered a big time strike into the upper 90 for Sporting Blue Valley 2010, during a 2-0 win over Washington Premier on Day 1. Vassor showed off her huge leg on the shot from the top of the box, which was simply unstoppable thanks to her quick release and perfect placement. (WATCH)

La Roca FC 10 (UT)

Guided La Roca FC 10 to an unbeaten 1-0-2 record in Texas, as the Utah-based side still hasn’t lost a game yet this season. A USYS ODP National Team selection for the second straight year, Walbruch scored 3 goals during the showcase while playing 240 total minutes in her team captain role.

The U.S. Youth National Team roster pool member showed out in Dallas, as she was named Player of the Match after leading the West Team to victory in the ECNL National Selection Game. She didn’t stop there, coming up huge for Sting Austin 09 during a tough 2-1 win over Eclipse Select SC, scoring one goal and assisting the other.

After leaving the Girls Academy this past winter, Gabby Beinecke attended her first ECNL showcase in Texas with Riverhounds Academy 09. Gabby made her presence felt immediately, setting the tone with a breakaway goal in the opening minute of her team’s first game.

Shined on the attacking side for DKSC 09 with 3 goals on the weekend, despite playing through a broken nose. Carney brings a physical presence into the box, which allows her to win loose balls and create 2nd or 3rd scoring chances for her side. (HIGHLIGHTS)

Turned in another strong weekend between the posts for FC Dallas 08, helping her team secure a pair of clean sheets while conceding just one total goal.

Kherington Yezik

Kherington played largely at the defensive midfield position during ECNL TX due to some unavailable defensive players and she used her size and physicality to impose her will all weekend long. She consistently made big defensive plays in 1v1 situations, and supported teammates with their defensive assignments during transition and breakdowns. She regularly dispossessed the opposing team and instantly transitioned with decisive 1-or-2 touch passes forward or out wide to space.

FC Dallas Youth 09 (TX)

A strong playmaker for a well-rounded FC Dallas 09 team, de Moor turned in two assists and scored a goal of her own over the course of the showcase. FC Dallas swept their three opponents at the event played in their home city. De Moor’s best game came in the finale, as she scored one goal and assisted another during a 4-0 rout of Utah Avalanche.

Dallas Sting Royal 09 (TX)

Ava captained the defense in this showcase, defeating some of the top-ranked teams in the nation. Sting earned a 1-0 shutout win over SLSG Navy and impressive 2-1 wins over Match Fit Academy and Kansas City Athletics. Sexton was calm under pressure and had perfectly-timed tackles to shut down the opposing forwards.

Northern Virginia Alliance 06/07 (VA)

A 2009 player making a guest appearance with the NVA 06/07 squad, Kownacki made some great tackles in crucial moments, stopping multiple goal scoring chance. She used her height and speed to her advantage, clearly proving her worth while playing up alongside older players.

Tulsa SC 09 (OK)

London scored the first goal of the weekend against Midwest United 09, on an outstanding team effort. She received the first of a 6-string pass combo which ultimately ended with her finishing in the back of the net. In the second game, London assisted the only goal for Tulsa SC, which ended in a 1-1 tie. She created many opportunities for the forwards by attacking at a high speed and playing some excellent through balls.

Brianna controlled the midfield with confidence, dictating the game’s rhythm and delivering precise passes to keep the team moving forward. Her creativity and sharp vision allowed her to navigate through defenders and set up key plays. With exceptional awareness of her teammates, she made smart decisions under pressure.

The TCU commit delivered a strong performance over the weekend. As a standout recruit for the 2026 class, Majors showcased her deep understanding of the game and well-rounded skillset. Her ability to navigate double and triple teams while creating opportunities for her teammates is impressive.

Provided a key assist for FC Dallas 07/06 in their hard-fought 2-1 victory over Seattle United in the opener, and scored a goal of her own on Day 3 in a 2-0 win against La Roca FC. Harris is a polished, uncommitted Class of 2026 attacker.

Richmond United 08 (VA)

Flannery, an uncommitted Class of 2026 prospect helped lead Richmond United to two quality wins at ECNL TX. Her aggressive and athletic play stood out during her time at both outside back and in the central midfield. She has an uncanny ability to break up plays and is an excellent 1v1 defender.

The Class of 2025 Texas Tech commit showed why she was a coveted recruit for the Red Raiders, creating scoring chances for her teammates and finding the net herself over the course of an unbeaten weekend for Albion Hurricanes FC 07.

Lagusis turned in a solid performance as a right back for Solar 06/07 ECNL this weekend. She did a great job defending and made quick, smart decisions with her tackles, getting the ball to her playmakers effectively. She contributed to two clean sheets and also showed strong involvement in the attacking third, supporting offensive opportunities when needed.
