Semifinal matchups set for 2025 Dallas Cup’s Gordon Jago Super Group

DALLAS, TX – Group play in the U19 Gordon Jago Super Group wrapped up on Wednesday at the 2025 Dallas Cup, setting the stage for two high-profile semifinal matchups on Friday evening at Toyota Stadium in Frisco.

The first semi kicks off at 5:00 PM CT with a clash between the last two Super Group champions: defending title holders São Paulo FC (BRA) and 2023 champions FC Midtjylland (DEN). The second semifinal, scheduled for 7:30 PM CT, features a showdown between Brazil’s Botafogo (BRA) and Liga MX side Tigres UANL (MEX).

The opening semifinal is a matchup between the past two Super Group champions. São Paulo FC, the reigning title holders, are aiming to capture a record fifth Super Group crown, having previously lifted the trophy in 1995, 2007, 2009, and 2024. Their opponent, FC Midtjylland, took home the title in 2023 and are making their third consecutive Super Group appearance in 2025.

The nightcap will feature Botafogo and Tigres UANL in a battle of heavyweights. Botafogo, returning to the Super Group semis for their second straight year, has been one of the most impressive teams of the 2025 tournament, netting 11 goals and posting three straight clean sheets in group play. Tigres UANL’s academy team has been one of the most dominant sides in recent memory, capturing back-to-back Super Group titles in 2018 and 2019. The Liga MX side also hoisted the elite bracket trophy in 2011 and 2003, making them one of only two clubs to have four Super Group championships—alongside São Paulo FC.

Also taking place Friday at Toyota Stadium are the Under 15 Boys and Girls Finals, with the finalists to be decided during Thursday’s semifinal matches at MoneyGram Soccer Park.

The 2025 Dallas Cup runs through April 20, featuring Boys and Girls divisions from U10 up to the U19 Gordon Jago Super Group. After Friday’s Super Group semifinals and U15 finals, the tournament culminates with Championship Weekend, as the U10–U14 champions will be crowned at Toyota Soccer Center, and U16–U19 champions will be decided at Toyota Stadium.
