Under 15 Girls & Boys Finals

The day kicked off with the Under 15 Girls final between Canada’s Pickering FC 2010G OPDL and FC Dallas ECNL-RL G10. After a scoreless first half marked by a tightly contested midfield battle, Pickering FC’s Kiley Rogers broke the deadlock early in the second half. Rogers collected the ball on the edge of the penalty area, turned her defender, and rifled a low shot past the FC Dallas goalkeeper to give the Canadian side a 1-0 lead. In the 65th minute, Rogers padded the lead as a well-swung cross from a corner found her head and she guided it home. The final whistle blew and Pickering FC was crowned the Under 15 girls champion, becoming the second international girls champions since the return of girls divisions in 2021.

In the Under 15 boys final, Rebels SC ECNL out of San Diego squared off against FC Dallas 2010 Academy. The match took an interesting turn in the 25th minute when, following a VAR review, FC Dallas’ Justus Jones was issued a red card for a handball as the last defender. Nearing halftime, Rebels SC capitalized on a costly turnover deep in FC Dallas territory, with forward Faisal Musah slotting home a close-range finish to give the California side a 1-0 lead heading into the break. Despite being a man down, FC Dallas clawed their way back in the second half. In the 55th minute, Angel Monsivais converted from the penalty spot to level the match. Just minutes later, his teammate Theo Hallie sliced through the Rebels’ defense and put the local side ahead 2-1 with a composed finish. The match ended 2-1 in favor of FC Dallas 2010 Academy, as the tournament’s host club captured their first Boot & Ball trophy at the 2025 edition of the Dallas Cup.

U19 Gordon Jago Super Group Semi – São Paulo FC vs. FC Midtjylland

The first Gordon Jago Super Group semifinal of the evening featured a clash between the past two Super Group champions, as Brazil’s São Paulo FC and Denmark’s FC Midtjylland squared off at Toyota Stadium. In the 7th minute, the defending Super Group champions, São Paulo FC, opened the scoring when a corner kick found the head of striker Matheus Butzke, who nodded the ball into the left side of the net. In the 26th minute, São Paulo doubled their advantage, as Butzke once again showcased his aerial prowess by heading home his second goal of the match off a free kick. FC Midtjylland’s Musiliu Odekunle pulled a goal back in the 39th minute with a headed goal of his own, cutting the deficit to 2-1 going into halftime. Right out of the halftime break, Midtjylland’s James Arinze equalized the match at 2-2 with yet another headed goal in the 46th minute.

The remainder of regulation was a physical affair, but neither team was able to find a go-ahead goal, sending the match into two 10-minute periods of extra time to determine a finalist for Sunday’s championship. With just a few minutes remaining in the second extra time period, Butzke put an exclamation mark on his stellar performance, heading home his third goal of the match to complete a hat-trick and punch São Paulo FC’s ticket to the final. São Paulo now looks to become the first back-to-back Super Group champion since Tigres UANL accomplished the feat in 2018 and 2019.

U19 Gordon Jago Super Group Semi – Botafogo vs. Tigres UANL

The second Gordon Jago Super Group semifinal between Brazil’s Botafogo and Mexico’s Tigres UANL kicked off at 7:30 p.m. at Toyota Stadium. The four-time Super Group champions, Tigres UANL, struck first in the 22nd minute. After a long ball over the top, Gustavo Wood calmly tracked the ball through the air, brought it down to his left foot, and rifled it past the Botafogo goalkeeper. In the 38th minute, Botafogo’s Justino responded, lifting a beautiful chipped shot from near the edge of the box into the left corner of the net to level the match at 1-1.

The match carried into the second half, and the next goal did not come until the 72nd minute. Following a handball in the box by a Tigres defender, Botafogo’s Yarlen calmly converted from the penalty spot to put the Brazilian side in front, 2-1. Just a few minutes later, Botafogo’s Rafael Lobato added to the lead, tucking a well-placed shot into the right side of the net. The final whistle blew with Botafogo securing a 3-1 victory and punching their ticket to the championship match. The all-Brazilian final between Botafogo and São Paulo FC will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday at Toyota Stadium.
