US Youth Soccer 2016 Presidents Cup dates, host locations announced

FRISCO, Texas (Via US Youth Soccer) – US Youth Soccer has announced the dates and locations for the 2016 US Youth Soccer Regional and National Presidents Cup events. The 2016 National Presidents Cup will take place July 14-17 in Tulsa, Okla., at the Mohawk Soccer Complex and will feature 40 Boys and Girls teams in the Under-13 through Under-17 age groups.

“After concluding another successful year of the US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup events, we are excited to look to the future and announce the host cities for the 2016 events,” said US Youth Soccer Chairman John Sutter. “US Youth Soccer is always eager to offer its players additional opportunities to advance and compete at levels that contribute to the individual growth of players, and the Presidents Cup events are proof of that commitment, providing rewarding experiences to thousands of players who become fans of the game for life.”

Each team will play preliminary matches Thursday, July 14 through Saturday, July 16 to determine the top two teams to play in the finals on Sunday, July 17.

“Oklahoma Soccer Association is pleased to be named the host for the 2016 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup,” said Tom Wedding, youth vice president of Oklahoma Soccer Association. “We welcome the 40 teams attending as well as all parents, spectators, coaches, referees and administrators. This event will surely bring great economic impact to the City of Tulsa. Oklahoma Soccer, along with Tulsa Sports Commission, look forward to showcasing an outstanding tournament.”

Each US Youth Soccer State Association determines the path through which its state teams advance to the regional competitions. Regional winners of the Under-13 through Under-17 Boys and Girls age groups will earn a berth to the US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup.
