Continue reading for a preview of the 2017 Manhattan SC Kick-Off Classic U-19 Men’s Showcase Platinum Division. The Manhattan Kick-Off Classic will be played March 3-5 in New York City, featuring over 600 elite level teams from the U-12 through U-19 age groups.

HBC United (NYE)
Head Coach: Ray Anderson
A national top 25 team from New York State, United has a reputation of being a well-coached and formidable side. The Long Islanders have recently captured titles at the TOWSC Boys College Showcase and NYC Cup. After solid competition at the Bethesda Premier Cup and PA Classics Winter College Showcase, the 2016 ENYYSA State Cup Semifinalists will look to start up the spring 2017 season on a strong note in Manhattan.
Lake Grove Newfield SC Rampage (NYE)
Head Coach: Timothy Graham
A nation top 10 team also hailing from Long Island, Lake Grove has a strong tradition of producing high quality boys high school aged teams. As a club known for putting together a strong program, the Rampage recently captured titles at the Bethesda Premier Cup, while placing at the the Disney Soccer Showcase in December. The reigning New York Cup State Champions will look to start off the spring season with a strong showing in the Big Apple with the goal of making a return trip to the US Club Soccer National Cup in Indianapolis this summer.
FC Somers Razors (NYE)
Head Coach: Toma Gojcevic
A well-known Westchester County power, the Razors have their sights set on a strong U19 spring campaign starting in the city that never sleeps. After facing strong competition at the TOWSC Boys College Premier Showcase and the EDP Winter College Showcase, a championship concluded the fall season at the coveted Massapequa Premier Winter College Showcase. The team competed in a very strong EDP division last spring, finishing second.
Manhattan SC Gunners (NYE)
Head Coach: John Lathan
The gracious hosts are looking to have a breakout spring season. Under the direction of former Sunderland striker John Lathan, the team will look to defend their Manhattan SC Kick-Off Classic title from 2016. After taking titles in 2016 at Potomac, and placing at Jefferson Cup, Puma Christopher Columbus Cup, TOWSC Winter Premier College Showcase and the EDP Winter College Showcase, the Gunners will look to keep their highly competitive streak alive in March.
Smithtown Kickers SC Galaxy (NYE)
Head Coach: Mike LaCarruba
Last season’s ENYYSA New York State Cup Finalists are looking to start of the spring 2017 season right with a good showing in Manhattan. The Long Island team, which hails from a club that has produced National Champions, comes off a summer championship at the NYC Cup, while competing well this fall at Bethesda Premier Cup, EDP Fall Showcase and the Massapequa Premier Winter College Showcase.
New York SC 98/99 (NYE)
Head Coach: Christian Gonzalez
The two-time defending NPL National Champions enter the Manhattan Soccer Club Kickoff Classic as one of the nation’s very best teams. The extensive and impressive trophy case holds recent titles from the Elite Development Program NPL title, Potomac, Dr. Pepper Dallas Cup, Massapequa Winter College Showcase and Disney Soccer Showcase. This team is on a roll and start their quest for a third National title in New York City. Georgetown commit Jack Beer leads he way as one of the country’s most lethal strikers. The team sits currently as the #2 team in the nation.
TSF Academy 98/99 (NJ)
Head Coach: Dave Bulmer
Northern Jersey powerhouse TSF Academy enters the Manattan Soccer Club Kickoff Classic as a national top 30 side. The team finished as semifinalists in New York City last year, and have consistently placed at high level tournaments such as Jefferson Cup, Dr. Pepper Dallas Cup, NJ State Cup and Potomac. This spring, TSF looks to set their sights on more hardware representing the Elite Development Program.
GPS MA-NPL 1998 (MA)
Head Coach: Alex Brame
The dominant Massachusetts program steam rolls into New York City coming off of last year’s NPL National Semifinalist finish. GPS has brought home recent titles at the Massapequa Winter College Showcase and GPS Thanksgiving Showcase. The reigning New England Premier NPL champions are primed for a good showing at the Manhattan Soccer Club Kickoff Classic and look to return to the NPL National Championships come summer 2017.
