RICHMOND, VA (Via ECNL) – The Girls Elite Clubs National League has announced that Arizona Arsenal Soccer Club will be joining the Girls ECNL beginning in the 2018-2019 ECNL Season. The Girls ECNL will be the only national league in which the club will compete, and the focal point of its competitive efforts.

Arizona Arsenal SC was formed in 1992 based out of Paloma Soccer Complex in Phoenix. With more than 50 competitive teams, the club has consistently competed at the highest state, region and national level.  Winning four state Arizona championships in 2017, and sending more than 60 female players to college over the past four seasons, Arizona Arsenal prides itself on developing the total player, on and off the field.

“Arizona Arsenal Soccer Club is extremely excited to be accepted into the Girls ECNL for the 2018-19 Season,” said Technical Director David Belfort. “We are thankful that our female players will have this elite platform to showcase their ability.  This membership is a true testament to the generations of Arsenal female players, coaches, directors, and board members efforts that have come previously. Our coaching staff, leadership and directors work hand-in-hand to make Arizona Arsenal an ideal destination for any player aspiring to be placed in college.”

The Girls ECNL is one of the nation’s top development and competition platform for female soccer players, with conference competition in six age groups (U13, U14, U15, U16, U17, and U18/19) and unmatched collegiate exposure through the ECNL National Events, the largest collegiate showcases in the country.  In addition to the competition platform, the Girls ECNL offers player identification and development opportunities for top players in every conference, unique coaching education and club development programs, and player health and education resources.

“We are thrilled to welcome Arizona Arsenal Soccer Club into the Girls ECNL,” said ECNL Commissioner Jen Winnagle. “The history, leadership, and philosophy of Arizona Arsenal makes them a great addition to the Southwest Conference.  We are excited to welcome the club to the ‘ECNL All-in’ family.”

Arizona Arsenal will begin formal competition in the Girls ECNL in August 2018. Additional new clubs will be announced in the Girls ECNL in the coming weeks.
