In the Atlantic Division, Long Island SC (4-3-5, 17 points) were the big winners, getting four points in two matches in league play. On Saturday they nearly made it a full six points, pulling ahead of FC Virginia (7-0-4, 25 points) 1-0 at the half. Midfielder Julia De Turnis scored the go-ahead goal for Long Island with her strike in the 40th minute. Virginia found the equalizer with just three minutes to play. Midfielder Kathryn Cassidy scored the goal for Virginia, her third of the season.

Long Island didn’t leave anything to chance on Sunday, scoring twice to defeat Arlington Soccer Association (5-6-3, 18 points) 2-1. Anna Rupert gave ASA the lead early with her goal in the second minute. But Long Island scored two unanswered goals from Giana Paul (11’) and Thalia Morisi (76’) to get the three points.

Cedar Stars Academy-Monmouth (5-2-3, 18 points) remain in third place after defeating ASA 2-0. Madison Krakower (64’) and Gabriella Muccio (76’) supplied the goals for Cedar Stars. Their defense meanwhile was once again on point, limiting ASA’s attacking chances on goal en route to their third consecutive shutout.

FC Fury NY (3-6-1, 10 points) found their scoring stroke on Saturday, hitting a season-high five goals in their win over FC Albertson Fury (0-9-1, 1 point). In the first half it was all Albertson, with the New York side getting goals from midfielder Brenna Hauffler (10’) and forward Taylor Argentina (25’). But FC Fury’s attack came alive in the second half, getting five unanswered goals from Lia Howard (41’), Mila Erceg (71’), Avani Voytelmgum (57’), Hailey Hnis (63’) and Liliana Setteducate (55’).

United Soccer Alliance (5-2-1, 16 points) moved into fourth place in the Southeast after defeating IMG Academy (7-2-1, 22 points) 3-1. Madison Shaffrey put IMG ahead early with her goal in the fifth minute of the match. But credit to the USA attack for continuing to press the IMG defense. Their hard work was rewarded in the form of a game-tying goal from Thai Quallich in the 11th minute and a brace from Isabella Pontieri (49’ and 53’) early in the second half. Pontieri now has 13 goals on the season which is fourth most among all players in the USSDA U-15 age bracket.

Weston FC (4-7-1, 13 points) snapped a two-game losing streak with a 2-0 win over the South Florida Football Academy (0-11-0, 0 points). Abriella Moss (40’) and Brooke Ricca (70’) each scored for Weston. They are now tied with United Futbol Academy on points in the Southeast, but trail them 1.1818 to 1.0833 in points per game.

In the only match in the Atlantic Division, Cedar Stars Academy-Monmouth (3-3-1, 10 points) came back late to earn a 2-2 draw with FC Virginia (6-4-1, 19 points). After a tight first half, Virginia jumped ahead to a 2-0 lead early in the second half with goals from Ashley Rauch (46’) and Brooke Potter (59’). But a Virginia own goal in the second half gave Monmouth some life late. They made the most of it with forward Elizabeth Droner scoring the game-tying goal in the 64th minute.

FC Fury NY (4-5-1, 13 points) walked away from the weekend with six points having earned two big wins in Northeast Division play. On Saturday they defeated FC Albertson Fury (1-8-1, 4 points) 5-3 in a goal-fest at Brentwood State Park. Sunday’s encounter with Sky Blue-NYSC (7-2-1, 22 points) didn’t quite supply the same number of goals for Fury NY but chances are they will be happy to walk away with a 1-0 result. DuMont put the Fury up early with her goal in the eighth minute, her third of the season. The one goal was all the Fury defense needed with Sarah DeFreitas, Jayla Lee, Claire Gatz and Sasha Schwartz working together to hold the Sky Blue attack at bey. Goalkeeper Ashley Lumpe and the back line worked together to earn their club’s second shutout of the season.

New York City FC (9-1-1, 28 points) extended their unbeaten run to eight matches with a 4-2 win over the Albertson Fury. The two sides traded leads in the first half with midfielder Isabella Gomez (4’ and 21’) scoring twice for NYCFC and midfielder Chiara Greco (2’) and forward Natalie DeMasi (20’) scoring for Albertson. In the second half, NYCFC pulled away with Bella Sember scoring in the 47th minute and Gomez adding a third in the 70th. Sember now has 15 goals on the season, which is fourth most among all U-16/U-17 players.

IMG Academy (5-3-2, 17 points) closed the gap for third place in the Southeast, defeating United Soccer Alliance 2-1 on Saturday. The two Florida-based sides traded goals in the first half with IMG getting a goal from Elizabeth Stureman (13’) and Riley Rojahn (40’) tying things up for USA. In the second half IMG found the game-winning goal in the form of a Kennedy Hart strike in the 57th minute and held on to win their first match in three games.
