Wash Post: Big decision coming this week from Terps’ Patrick Mullins
By Quinn Casteel
[UPDATE: Mullins has passed up a Generation adidas contract offer from MLS and will stick around College Park for one more year. Check here for more details.]
According to a Tweet by Washington Post soccer expert Steven Goff, Maryland junior forward Patrick Mullins is currently weighing an offer from MLS and could make a decision by the end of the week.
Mullins is coming off his best collegiate season to date in his junior year, in which he led Maryland to a 20-1-3 record while leading the team with 44 points on 17 goals and 10 assists. He also had a team-high seven game-winning goals.
Mullins is a Hermann Trophy finalist and was also named first-team All American. If he decides to end his college career a year early and enter the MLS Draft, he will be joining Terps seniors Taylor Kemp and John Stertzer at the league’s scouting combine from Jan. 11-15.
