OMG! What a Goal (and call): Telemundo calls Carli Lloyd’s goal from midfield in World Cup final
U.S. Women’s National Team midfielder Carli Lloyd recorded a historic hat trick in Sunday’s 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup final against Japan. However, it was her third goal, a bomb from the midfield line, that has everybody talking.
What is equally as great as the goal that gave the Americans a 4-0 lead less than 16 minutes into the match is Telemundo’s Andres Cantor’s call. The commentator yelled his famous “Gol!” call for 38 seconds, giving the goal the celebration it deserved.
The U.S. Women would go on to claim the World Cup with a 5-2 victory.
