University of Oregon women’s soccer spring schedule released

EUGENE, Ore. (Via University of Oregon) — The University of Oregon women’s soccer team will play four home matches during the 2019 spring exhibition season, as well as a closed scrimmage versus the Portland Thorns FC of the National Women’s Soccer League.

The Ducks will open the spring against the Thorns on April 6.

The first of four home exhibitions at Pape’ Field will take place on April 13 versus Seattle Pacific. The Ducks will also host Western Oregon on April 18, Portland State on May 4 and Oregon State on May 11.

All four home exhibition are free and open to the public.

HINRIKSDOTTIR, SWEATMAN SIGN PRO CONTRACTS

Duck alums Halla Hinriksdottir and Marlo Sweatman have recently signed professional soccer contracts with clubs in Europe.

Hinriksdottir, a goalkeeper who graduated in December, signed with Breidablik UBK, a sports club based in Kópavogur, Iceland.

Sweatman, a midfielder who graduated in 2016, signed with St. Mihaly FC in Hungary.

In addition to her professional career, Sweatman will become the first Duck to play in the World Cup when Team Jamaica takes the field as a first-time qualifier later this year in France.
