Giuseppe Vitale named Western Michigan men’s soccer captain

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (Via Western Michigan University) – The Western Michigan University men’s soccer team and head coach Chad Wiseman announced senior Giuseppe Vitale will captain the 2019 Bronco squad.

The midfielder from Washington Township, Mich., has appeared in 49 games in Brown & Gold with 28 starts and has been appointed by his teammates and coaching staff to lead the Brown & Gold in his final season.

“Giuseppe has been an ideal student-athlete for our program over the last three years,” said head coach Chad Wiseman. “He has been a tremendous leader in the classroom and is a great teammate that pushes the players around him in all the areas our program. Vitale has a lot of experience on the field and has played under some of the best captains in WMU soccer history. He is ready to lead the team in 2019 and the Broncos are in great hands with him as our captain.”

WMU is coming off a 11-6-3 overall record season in 2018 in which the Broncos made a second consecutive appearance in the Mid-American Conference Championship, eventually falling to the NCAA runner-ups from Akron.
