Bethesda SC hosts inaugural Girls College ID Clinic

(Via Bethesda SC) – On Sunday, June 10th Bethesda Soccer Club hosted its first-ever Girls College Identification Clinic for over 50 players at Wootton High School.

Players ages 15-18 were on hand to be trained and observed by a number of college coaches from around the region including Loyola, Bucknell University, McDaniel College and New York University, with a number of coaches watching from the bleachers. Shannon Cirovski, Bethesda’s Girls Director of Coaching, was impressed with the turnout and the event. “It’s always nice to provide our girls with opportunities such as this, where they can experience what it’s like to be trained by college coaches, as well as have a chance to be seen by a number of the colleges located in this region.”

Each year, Bethesda players head off to compete at some of the top programs in Division I, Division II, and Division III.   With the club working hard to develop girls to play collegiately, events such as this enables all of our older girls a unique opportunity to further enhance their academic and athletic endeavors.  “Whether the girls play DI, DII or DIII, they will have an amazing experience playing college soccer. For those of us who have been fortunate to play in college, we know just how much fun that experience can be, and how it can change one’s life”, said Jeff Rohrman, Bethesda’s Assistant Director of Coaching.

Bethesda sponsors a number of ECNL, ECNL2, and EDP teams across all age groups, and has long been one of the elite soccer clubs in the country.
