Harvard women’s soccer adds Lauren Berman to coaching staff

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women’s soccer has announced the addition of Lauren Berman as the program’s volunteer assistant coach. Berman arrives in Cambridge after a standout career at Boston College, and a two-year stint playing professionally in Hungary.

“We are looking forward to having Lauren join our family,” said Chris Hamblin, The Branca Family Head Coach for Harvard Women’s Soccer. “Lauren is passionate about coaching and brings great energy to her work on and off the field. As a former college captain and professional athlete, Lauren’s experiences will be a valuable asset to our program.”

Berman started all 61 of her appearances for Boston College, scoring 14 goals with 18 assists. As a senior and captain in 2017, she was named the New England Midfielder of the Year, and was the Eagles’ MVP and offensive player of the year. She also spent her freshman season at Maryland, where she scores three goals and dished five assists.

Following her collegiate career, Berman played two seasons for MTK Hungaria FC in Budapest, Hungary, where she helped the team to first and second place finishes in the Jet Sol NOI Liga table, as well as qualifications to the champions league.

Harvard women’s soccer will begin its search for its seventh Ivy League title in 12 years on August 30, when it travels to Northeastern.
