US Club Soccer selects Snohomish, Wash. as home of National Cup Northwest Regional
US Club Soccer has announced a four-year partnership with Snohomish Youth Soccer Club and Snohomish County to bring its National Cup Northwest Regional to Stocker Fields, beginning next summer.
The 19th edition of the National Cup, US Club Soccer’s cup-based championship series, features six Regionals throughout the country in June 2020. The National Cup XIX Northwest Regional takes place June 26-29.
Stocker Fields is well-equipped to host the Northwest Regional. Participating teams – 13-U through 19-U boys and girls age groups – compete at this tournament for a chance to qualify to the National Cup Finals, where triumphant teams from all six Regionals and state cups throughout the country converge on the national stage.
“Snohomish County is a fantastic destination for our Northwest Regional,” said Alexandra Rieben, US Club Soccer Director of Events. “After hosting the tournament in different locations the past few years, this partnership provides stability and allows our members to plan their competitive calendars to include this Regional. Teams will experience first-class facilities on the field and all that Snohomish County has to offer off the field.”
“On behalf of Snohomish Youth SC, it is our pleasure to welcome US Club Soccer’s Northwest Regional to Stocker Fields and the city of Snohomish,” said Chris Miller, President of Snohomish Youth SC. “We are excited to enter into a four-year partnership with a great organization such as US Club Soccer that will provide a profound economic impact for our local businesses in the city of Snohomish, as well as Snohomish County.”
“The opportunity to host a prestigious US Club Soccer Regional is an honor. We are delighted the Northwest Regional will be held at Stocker Fields, home to Snohomish Youth SC, for multiple years,” added Tammy Dunn, Executive Director of Snohomish County Sports Commission. “We look forward to welcoming US Club Soccer staff, the boys & girls soccer clubs and their family members to Snohomish County.”
Applications to all National Cup XIX Regionals will be available in January. An announcement of the full slate of Regionals in 2020 is coming soon. Join the conversation on social media by using the hashtag #NationalCupXIX.
