North Dakota assistant Amanda Raso accepts head coaching position at Western Colorado

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The University of North Dakota women’s soccer program announced that assistant coach Amanda Raso accepted the head coaching position at Western Colorado after spending the last two seasons as the Fighting Hawks goalkeepers coach.

“We are extremely grateful for everything Amanda has done for our program over the last 18 months. Her dedication to our student-athletes has directly impacted their success on the field, in the classroom, and in their personal lives,” said Head Coach Chris Logan. “I know the team will join me in congratulating Amanda on this opportunity and wish her well in her first head coaching position. We are excited to watch the Western Colorado women’s soccer program grow under her guidance.”

Under Raso’s watch, North Dakota was one of the top defensive teams in The Summit League, allowing 10 goals in 2018, the fewest in The League. Olivia Swenson, an Academic All-American, led The Summit League in goals-against average and save percentage as well. This past season, Catherine Klein set UND’s career shutout record when she blanked Western Illinois on the road on Oct. 13.

Western Colorado is a Division II program that competes in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC).
