Maryland United FC raises over $8,000 to benefit local emergency staff fighting COVID-19

Maryland United FC is raising money to benefit the local hospitals and front line doctors, nurses and emergency workers who are working around the clock to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

The club is using 100% of the proceeds to purchase food from its members who own and operate local carry-out restaurants to make deliveries to local hospitals.

After initially setting a goal of $4,000 in donations, Maryland United members were able to double that total, bringing more than $8,000 through its Helping Hands Initiative.

The club has already begun making food deliveries to local hospitals, and will continue throughout the week. The initiative is serving hospitals in Anne Arundel, Prince Georges, Howard and Baltimore counties, and even into Southern Maryland.
