UCLA leads all NCAA programs with 15 alumnae playing in NWSL Challenge Cup

UCLA leads all college programs with 15 alumnae playing in the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup, which kicks off June 27 in Herriman, Utah.

UCLA is followed by the University of North Carolina with 14 alumnae playing in the NWSL Challenge Cup. Penn State and Stanford each have 11 representatives, and the University of Virginia rounds out the top five with 9 former players.

CBS will air the opening Challenge Cup match between North Carolina Courage and Portland Thorns FC on June 27 at 9:30 am PT, a game that features five Bruins (NC Courage’s Abby Dahlkemper, Hailie Mace, Sam Mewis, Katelyn Rowland; Thorns FC’s Anika Rodriguez). CBS will also air the final on July 26. The full eight-team, 23-game tournament will be streamed live on CBS All Access in the U.S. and Canada and will re-air on CBS Sports Network. Fans outside the U.S. and Canada can stream the full tournament on Twitch.
