USC women’s soccer signs Lily Perryman as transfer from Boston University

LOS ANGELESUSC Women’s Soccer Head Coach Keidane McAlpine announced the addition of defender Lily Perryman to the Trojan roster as a transfer from Boston University.

Perryman, a native of Portola Valley, Calif., returns to the Golden State after two seasons at Boston. She will be immediately eligible to compete when the Trojans return to action in 2021.

“Lily is an experienced defender with good athleticism and an excellent range of passing,” said McAlpine. “She adds some great depth and competition to our backline, and we’re excited to have her join an already talented group.”

Perryman appeared in five games and made three starts for the Terriers as a freshman in 2018, before missing most of the season due to injury. She returned in 2019 and started 11 of the 15 games she played in, earning BU Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year as well as Patriot League Honor Roll recognition.

“I chose to attend USC because of the highly competitive academics and athletics, as well as the close-knit community SC is known for,” said Perryman on her decision to transfer.

As a prep standout at Saint Francis High School in Mountain View, Calif., Perryman was a three-year letterwinner and two-time time team captain, while earning all-conference honors all three seasons. She was named the WCAL Defender of the Year as a senior and the SFHS Outstanding Senior Athlete that year as well. Perryman also ran track for three years during her prep career.

The 5’10” defender played her club soccer for Alpine Strikers (2008-12) and Palo Alto SC (2012-18), guiding Palo Alto to two State Cups and CRL championships, and one NPL championship.

Perryman will take the field with an already talented recruiting class when USC returns to action. The Trojans’ season was postponed through the end of the year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the NCAA working to host fall sports championships in the spring.
