USWNT midfielder Catarina Macario scores first goal of her pro career in France

U.S. Women’s National Team midfielder Catarina Macario scored her first professional goal over the weekend for Olympique Lyonnais in France.

The talented 21-year-old, who opted out of her senior season at Stanford University to sign with Lyon, hit her career milestone during her team’s 3-0 victory over Dijon.

Macario, who played the full 90 minutes in the win, found the net in the 55th minute with left-footed first-time finish from seven yards out, following a centering pass from German international Dzsenifer Marozsán.

Earlier this year, Macario made her USWNT debut on Jan. 18 and scored in her first international start four days later.
