Nevada women’s soccer signs goalkeeper Emily McCue on transfer

RENO, Nev. Nevada women’s soccer head coach Erin Otagaki announced the addition of goalkeeper Emily McCue.

The British Columbia native spent two seasons at Florida Gulf Coast University and was a member of the ASUN Regular Season Champion team in 2019.

“Emily McCue is a technically sound keeper that will add to our goalkeeping core with her youth national team experience and knowledge of the game,” said Otagaki. “We are excited to welcome a fantastic soccer player and wonderful person to the Pack family!”

McCue, who stands 6 feet 2 inches tall, will have three seasons of remaining eligibility for the Wolf Pack. The goalkeeper appeared in two games as a freshman at FGCU registering three saves.

Prior to FGCU, McCue played club for the Whitecaps FC Girls Elite Super REX Program under Rhian Wilkinson & Mike Norris. She missed the start of her freshman season at FGCU after earning a spot at Canada’s U20 National Team Excel Camp.

McCue decided to attend Nevada because of the amazing coaching staff. She is planning to study computer science and engineering at Nevada.
