Former Northeastern forward Chelsea Domond will transfer to Syracuse and join the women’s soccer program, according to Coach Nicky Adams. Domond has signed a scholarship agreement with the University and will enroll this fall.
“We are happy to welcome Chelsea to Syracuse,” Adams said. “Chelsea is a dynamic fast forward that has proven she is a goal scorer at the collegiate level.
“Chelsea is very athletic and has tremendous work rate. She had a stellar career at Northeastern and we are excited for her to bring her experience to Syracuse.”
Domond will enroll in a graduate program at Syracuse and have one year of soccer eligibility. She recently completed her fourth season of competition at Northeastern. She was a 2020 All-Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) First Team selection and earned 2019 United States Soccer Coaches All-East Region Third Team recognition.
During her time at Northeastern, Domond played in 69 games, including 52 of those as a starter. She accumulated 17 goals, nine assists and 43 points for the Huskies. Northeastern was 36-30-6 overall and 20-8-4 in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) with Domond on the roster. The Huskies played in the CAA Tournament each year and reached the conference tournament final in 2017.
She was a four-year letterwinner at Westhill High School (Conn.). Domond was a three-time All-Fairfield County League selection, a two-time All-State pick and a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-East Region honoree. She scored more than 70 goals for the Vikings in her scholastic career.
Domond also competed for Yankee United FC. She was a 2015 US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) All-Star and a 2016 Hearst Connecticut Media All-Star.
