Players to Watch: MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs and Showcase

As the MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs and Showcase kickoff in Dallas, the future of Major League Soccer will be on full display with many of America’s top young prospects competing in the event.

MLS NEXT shared its own list of nine standouts who are regarded as some of the players with the brightest potential at the professional level. The list, seen in the graphic below, features: Oslvaldo Cisernos (Sporting KC U-19), Victor Valdez (LA Galaxy U-17), Julio Benitez (Real Lake U-17), Beckham Sunderland (FC Cincinnati U-19), Bailey Sparks (Sporting KC U-19), Thomas Williams (Orlando City U-17), Dantouma “Yaya” Toure (Colorado Rapids U-17), Darren Yapi (Colorado Rapids U-17) and Alejandro Alcala (LA Galaxy U-17).

Longtime SoccerWire writer and MLSSoccer.com editor Charles Boehm shared an additional list of 10 players to watch, which also included five of the aforementioned prospects: Toure, Sunderland, Alcala, Williams and Cisneros.
