University of Memphis men’s soccer team reveals 16-player signing class

A center back, Antoniou joins the Tigers from Cyprus after years at the club and national level. Scouted at the age of 11, Antoniou joined AEL Limassol FC, part of Cyprus Division 1. Starting at the age of 15 and continuing through today, Antoniou has been selected to be a member of the Cyprus National Team for all U15, U16, U17, and U19 teams.

A team captain and full-time starter for all Euro Group stage games for the Cyprus National Team, Antoniou was part of the second place AEL F.C. U19 Team in the Cyprus U19 Championship, part of a decorated career before he  moved to Cyrus’ senior team at the age of 17.

Beus joins Memphis after two seasons at Dixie State University. The talented midfielder started 24 games across two seasons for the Trailblazers and tallied three goals and seven assists over 2005 minutes. Beus earned 2019 All-Conference Honorable Mention honors.

A two-time All-State selection at Lone Peak High School under Mark Graham, Beus holds the program’s career record with 22 assists. He spent 10 years with Rangers FC (09-17) and was the 2016 UYSA Top Goal-Scorer.

From a small town in Valencia, Spain, Chanzá joins the Tigers after years spent at the club level. Starting his career in his home town, Chanzá went to play at Villarreal C.F. Academy after two years. There, he played for nine years at the highest level. Two years in the Third Division with C.F. Recambios Colón de Catarroja followed and lead into the midfielder’s time with Memphis.

A two-year letterwinner at Coastal Carolina, Christensen joins the Tigers after two years with the Chanticleers. The Dane has had a decorated international career over 10 years with Aalborg BK, as Christensen is a four-time Danish champion, three-time Danish Cup winner, and two-time Champions League participant.

Joining the Tigers from Christian Brothers University, Galizzi burst onto the scene with five goals and five assists in 17 games in 2018 and earned Second Team All-GSC honors. After six goals the following season, he was named First Team All-GSC.

A native of Argentina, Galizzi played for Reading United in 2019 and reached the USL League Two final. Galizzi has trained multiple times with Memphis 901 FC and scored a hat trick in his first game for CBU, as the Bucs drew a 3-3 draw with UofM.

A transfer from Salt Lake City Junior College, Greener joins the Tigers after one season with the Bruins. In five games so far this season, Greener has picked up a goal and an assist, as the Bruins enter the NJCAA Tournament at 13-0-1.

A starter for all 21 games of his senior year at Wakeland High School, the forward has played for the U16-U17 and U18-U19 Dallas Texans Development Academy squads where he was the lead scorer for the Texans in the 2018-2019 season.

A four-year letterwinner at Rowlett High School, Griffin chose to sign with the Tigers following a tremendous high school career. A right back early in his time at Rowlett, Griffin spent his senior season as a forward, where he helped Rowlett to a 12-2 record and a District Championship.

Across eight years at the club level, two seasons with Liverpool FCA and six seasons with Solar De Leon, Griffin has been a part of two club championship teams. An excellent student off the field, the Texan has earned Academic Excellence honors each year in high school.

A transfer from Coastal Carolina, McCallum comes to Memphis after helping the Chanticleers to a 2021 NCAA Tournament appearance. Born in Scotland, McCallum grew up in Singapore until he was 12, when he left to attend Millfield School on a football scholarship. While at Millfield, McCallum reached four national finals and won a national championship.

At the international level. McCallum appeared in three youth World Cups for Singapore and has received international cap’s for England School Boys against Astralia, Wales, and Ireland. McCallup was on trial for championship side Derby as wel as Bristol City, Yeovil Town, Exeter City, and Weston Super Mares.

After two years at Lehigh University, Meredith joins the Tigers as a talented midfielder. The Raleigh native appeared in six games for the Mountain Hawks in 2019, with a season-high 47 minutes at Penn Sep. 24.

A captain of both his club team, Wake FC (17-19), as well as at Needham Broughton High School, Meredith guided his team to a State Cup Championship in 2018. In addition, Meredith participated in the USYS Regional Championships and was named All-Conference in high school.

Born in Celaya, Mexico, Ojeda joins the Tigers from Obra D. Tompkins High School where he was a four-time letterwinner. The Texan earned numerous accolades throughout high school, including 1^st Team All District and 1^st Team All Region. Last season, Ojeda scored 12 goals and tallied nine assists, which brought his career totals to 28 goals and 21 assists. He was also the most capped player on the team with 87 appearances.

At the club level, Ojeda scored three goals and added six assists for Albion Hurricanes FC, as the club went 16-1. Across multiple seasons with Albion Hurricanes FC, he’s added 10 goals and 15 assists.

Born in Rio das Oastras, Brazil, dos Santos joins the Tigers out of Cypress Ranch High School in Houston, Texas. While in high school, dos Santos was a two-time District most valuable player and was named First Team All-Region.

At the club level, the Brazilian currently plays for AHFC Royals of USL League Two. Dos Santos has also played for Dynamo Academy and Dynamo SC. He’s been named the VYPE Player of the Year as well as the Puma Cup MVP.

A 2020 graduate of Millennium High School, Santa Cruz is one of two keepers in Memphis’ signing class. A two-year high school player, the Arizona native played for two years with RSL-AZ MLS Next U18/19 Academy. Last season, the keeper had a 0.44 goals against average.

Santa Cruz has been named a Region IV Top-11 selection and made the Region IV ODP Tournament Finals twice. He has also played for Barca Academy, with two starts for the U16-17 squad and eight starts for Academy’s top team.

A three-year letterwinner at The Summit Country Day School, Sigman joins the Tigers after four years at Drake University. With the Bulldogs, Sigman started 12 matches and made 33 appearances. In the 2020-21 season, the Ohio native tallied his first career goal on April 13 against Loyola.

Originally from Reston, Va., Sigman was a two-time Ohio Division III State Champion (2015 & 2016). Sigman played for Cincinnati United Premier and was part of the USYS National Championship Tournament in 2017.

Born in Huddersfield, England, Tobin joins Memphis from Cardinal Stritch University. Tobin was part of a 2020 Conference Championship squad and Cup-winning team, with records of 16-4-1 and 11-1 respectively. As a freshman, Tobin started 14 of 16 games and played 1156 minutes.

A part of numerous club level teams with success, Tobin most recently spent 2018-2021 with Miramar Rangers, where he helped the club to a 17-3-1 record and was a part of the 2020 Central League Champions. Now calling New Zealand home, Tobin has played 54 times for Miramar Rangers and has also played for Waterside Karori and Wellington Phoenix.

A two-sport star for Denver East High School, Wagoner comes to Memphis after leading his school in both goals (18) and assists (13). As a junior, he was named All-State, a step up from Honorable Mention All-State as a sophomore. Wagoner was named All-League both years.

Wagoner has spent two years with Real Colorado U18-19, where he played 15 games and made 11 starts. In the 2016-17 season, Wagoner started 22 games and made 28 total appearances for Colorado Rapids U-14 where he scored 12 goals.

A three-year letterwinner in high school, Welsh joins the Tigers from Blue Valley West High School. With Blue Valley West, Welsh won the 2017 State Championship and finished as the 2019 State Champion Runner-Up, as he was named the final’s “Man of the Match” with 16 saves. In his senior season, Welsh helped the team to an 11-1-2 overall record with an undefeated regular season.

In 2020, Welsh received numerous accolades including United Soccer Coaches All-Central Midwest Team, All-Metro Second Team, All-State Second Team, and Eastern Kansas League Goalkeeper of the Year. Last season, the Kansas native recorded a shutout in six of his 14 games with a .920 save percentage and 150 total saves.
