Texas A&M and LSU standouts receive SEC Player of Week honors

The Southeastern Conference (SEC) has revealed the second weekly edition of conference awards winners for the 2021 soccer season.
SEC Offensive Player of the Week – Texas A&M midfielder Barbara Olivieri, a sophomore from Katy, Texas, logged a goal and an assist as the Maroon & White toppled the No. 9 Clemson Tigers, 3-1, at Ellis Field. After Clemson knotted the match at 1-1 in the 63rd minute, Olivieri put the Aggies back on top 63 seconds later with her first goal of the season. With just over 10 minutes remaining, Olivieri assisted on a goal by Kate Colvin to inflate the cushion to 3-1.
SEC Defensive Player of the Week – LSU goalkeeper Mollee Swift, a junior from Papillion, Neb., did not allow a goal in the run of play in wins at No. 15 USF and at No. 19 UCF. The only goal conceded was off a penalty kick to USF. She made six saves on the week and lowered her GAA to 0.57 while raising her save percentage up to .846.
SEC Freshman of the Week – Texas A&M midfielder Mia Pante, a freshman from Vancouver, British Columbia, had a goal and an assist in a win over No. 9 Clemson. Pante lit the lamp with her first career goal in the 17th minute to put the Aggies up 1-1 and then assisted Barbara Olivieri on the game-winner.
