Loudoun Soccer appoints Daryn Patricio as Director of Player Development
Leesburg, VA – Loudoun Soccer announced that Daryn Patricio has been promoted to Director of Player Development, following a nationwide search to fill the role recently departed by Dan Raben.
Patricio joined Loudoun Soccer in 2016 and has been program manager for the Micros/Minis and TOPSoccer programs since 2018. His duties have since expanded to include administrative oversight of the Rec 1 program and Technical Staff responsibilities as the director of foundation phase. Patricio also coaches in the Travel program.
A native of South Africa, Patricio attended the prestigious King Edward VII School in Johannesburg. After matriculating in 2005, he attended Radford University where he played on the men’s soccer team until 2009. After graduation, he moved back to South Africa and became the general manager of Balfour Alexandra F.C., where his duties included the oversight of the club as a Technical Director and Director of Coaching until October 2016.
“We are delighted that Daryn has accepted the position of Director of Player Development for Loudoun Soccer,” said Technical Director Mark Ryan. “Daryn’s background in youth soccer club management across two continents and his already outstanding work with our entry level Recreation programming made him a stand out candidate for this position. He will hit the ground running and continue to be a positive leader for our coaches, players and membership.”
Patricio said, “I am excited to begin this new role within Loudoun Soccer. This club has been a huge part of my life since relocating to the United States in 2016. I am extremely grateful to Colin Smith and Mark Ryan for entrusting me with these responsibilities, and I cannot wait continue to develop coaches and players for our club.”
A national search for Patricio’s replacement as program manager of the Micros/Minis, Rec 1, and TOPSoccer program is underway.
